what is the best way to do this from the Alicante region, please?  Is it train or coach?  Any help gratefully received for a friend who needs to get back for work and whose flight's just been cancelled!  Thank you,  Donna and Andy

We heard some ferries FROM the UK were not now taking foot passengers! They are so booked up with cars. Nightmare. Just maybe your friends could get to a French port only to be stranded there so just be careful they have tickets.

If your friend can book a Eurostar seat from Paris - I don´t know how booked up trains are in that direction and I am assuming your friend is going back to the UK - then a train from Alicante, connecting with the trenhotel from Barcelona to Paris, might be worth considering.  You can check it all online at: http://www.seat61.com/Spain.htm#Alicante, which gives several different options, and you can book it online too.

If your friend travels Gran Clase a meal and drinks are included and it is far better than airline food, with a full menu to choose from!

  How to buy tickets online...

The best way for UK residents to buy tickets for both Eurostar and the Paris-Barcelona trainhotel is online at www.raileurope.co.uk, using this booking form.  But please read the booking tips first!  To book by phone or in person, click here.  If you live in another European country, click here.  If you live in the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, click here.

you can book it all on the web  http://www.seat61.com/Spain.htm

Or you can get a bus from Alicante try this          Eurolines Germany-Deutsche Touring GmbH-EUROPABUS
