A few questions about rental cars

I know there was a previous thread on this but can't seem to find it now so apologies for going over old ground again but can anyone help with info on options other than those in arrivals at the airport?

We always use WWW.Doyouspain.com  for our car rentals at Almeria airport.

Usually we are allocated Auriga Crown which is just off the airport with a shuttle bus provided. Our friends have been allocated Solmar for their trip in June.

We have always found doyouspain excellent value & highly efficient. I booked car hire for April & August back in November last year but during their January sale, I noticed that their prices were less than I had paid. As they operate a no fee cancellation service, I emailed them & asked them to reduce the price of my bookings to avoid the need for me to cancel & rebook. Without any question, I received new booking confirmations within a few days.

When we were out in February, we had booked direct with Hertz & although the car was fine, they had a van in the car park where you had to put the keys through a small gap in the window when returning the car. This meant that no-one checked the car for damage & there could have been considerable iplications if the van had been broken into.

We dropped off an Augriga Crown Car at almeria airport on Saturday. They now have a desk in the airport.

I can't see what airport you are after, but apparently Econorent are meant to be very good, there are a few threads popping up in the main forum about them. We usually use DoYouSpain the same as Noreen and a little tip is to book as soon as possible to ensure you get a car. You do not pay for either of these companies before you arrive at the airport, so there is no risk. About 1 week before you arrive, check the prices again as sometimes they have gone down in price. You can then cancel the first booking with no penalty.

Hi All I use Europcar purely because you pick up the car with a full tank of fuel and take it back full. I know some of the others charge you extra for a full tank and tell you to bring it back empty which isn't great if you're not doing much driving. I understand some will do full/full if it's 3 days or less. Cheers
