Hi everybody

We visited Villapc at the weekend, as previously mentioned Girls very helpful, we could find furniture etc that would be suitable and fit within our budget, but would definately not buy curtains, voils, pictures, lamps etc as these where very expensive.

I also did not think they had enough information about the resort, and could not answer basic questions on bathrooms lighting etc.

Has anybody placed an order with them yet?

Thanks Chris /Ang

hi chris/ang

We too have looked at  Villapac as well as Mad About Furniture and Furniture Express but found nothing we really liked for the prices we want to pay. We are seriously comtemplating  hiring a van and heading for good old Ikea in Malaga for a spot of DIY

Hi everybody,

We rather liked Furniture Express Mexican for the bedrooms and are thinking of living room settee etc from Dunnes Stores which have a branch in Malaga - www.dunnesstores.ie

We still don't know about wardrobes for the bedrooms - anyone got a price for having someone do built-in wardrobes?

Hi all

As we all know raileng is in spain now and ferryman must be off soon, perhaps one of them can try and press Pepe a bit more on the issue of Built-in wardrobes. When we mentioned it 6 months ago he suggested it would be possible but wouldn't commit to a price or if we would have to deal direct with the carpenters.

Weather looks good raileng, how warm was it this time of year?

I would seriously advise you not to use Villapac, they have gone insolvent in the Uk and are also folding in Spain. They taken loads of peoples money and will not refund and are reselling all the furniture in Spain as liquidation stock..PLEASE BE AWARE!! DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE, I HAVE CONTACTED WATCHDOG AND WILL ALSO BE PUTTING A BIG ARTICLE IN THE PAPERS!!!!

Hi Ang/Chris,

I think your idea of Ikea sounds quite good, at least you know you will get your furniture. Villapac is one of the latest threads on eye in Spain if you have a look not good news.  Also there is a big furniture warehouse on the road leading into Iznalloz, (on the right hand side ) not sure of the costs though.  There is also a small furniture store in Iznalloz, if you travel upwards the main street  (past the bar in which one of the community forum photos was taken) and turn right at the sign (Montes Orientales)  and keep right, it will take you along another street, and the shop is further along on the left hand side, once again not too sure about prices though. Unless you don't have the time to do so, if you choose your furniture pieces individually you will avoid that package deal look.

Regards Kathy

We did the Ikea thing. It worked very well. We went to Ikea in Uk and asked for a print out of the codes for all the items we wanted. This worked well as we just handed it to the sales counter in Malaga and they produced a picking list. We spent abount 5 grand in Half an Hour! All you then need is a big van 12m3 minimum and a week to put it together. Battery screw driver essential.

Woody.

It feels strange posting on here after so long.
