On the 1st floor there are already two apartments occupied by Spanish people who both have barking dogs, but this is not a problem. As for security, so long as you have grills installed properly and window locks then you are ok. What you need to remember is the burglars are not interested in an empty place, what they want is holidaymakers who are relaxed and leave bags and money etc on show so that they can get in and nick it. So even with grills on and windows open make sure you dont leave anything on show as they even use fishing rods to get to stuff, but it you think safe then you will be safe. The front doors are made of steel and are very good with excellent locks on them and dont need grills fixed on them. If you are interested in getting grills then let me know and I will let you have the number.
We used Iberian to buy our property and basically they were brilliant and took all the stress out of the completion by making our appointments and taking us to the solicitors and notary. We were lucky as we went out on a Sunday and completed on the Tuesday which meant that we could get the place sorted before we came home. As for a solicitor we may have paid a little bit more for ours but it was very stress free which suited us.
