From a 2 week holiday/completion visit to Thalassa Phase I.  I have tried to upload photos unsuccessfully but will try again tomorrow.  The 2 Notario's offices in Vera are sharing out the weekdays so there is cover between them but I don't know if this applies to the whole of August.  As you can imagine, it is very busy and the process is a minimum 2 hours.  It was pointed out to us not to erect satellite dishes or change the external appearance in any way.  Any other issues are the subject of community meetings.

Pointers for people about to complete.  Take a strong pair of scissors to rip through all the polythene packaging on sofas and mattresses and the boxes you will inevitably bring home from your shopping trips whilst out there.  If you have purchased bedlinen in the UK, ensure you have pillows too as they give you the long bolster pillows on both double and single beds.  The double is 135cms wide, the singles 90cms.   Best place to buy Spanish bedlinen sets (fitted basesheet, top sheet and bolster pillowcase) I found were the markets - Vera on Saturday morning, Garrucha on Friday, but I found a bedlinen and towel shop in Vera called Textiles Hogar round the corner from the BBVA bank near the Notario's office and they were very helpful.  There is a ferreteria in the row of shops by the Medsea offices and the main 2 in Mojacar - Lopez and Ferreteria Mojacar (known locally as "Jacks"). Personally, I would recommend the latter.  The shop owner is very affable, speaks excellent English and employs an English guy as well.  You don't have a problem taking anything back (I've been told same is not true of Lopez) and Jack is a really nice guy who doesn't charge high prices and has a dry sense of humour.

My husband took his chargeable drill and used it every day.  We came home laden with goodies from our frequent daily shopping trips and he would then get cracking with light fittings, towel and loo roll holders, etc.   Unless you are incredibly organised and a compulsive list maker, you won't realise just how many things you need til you live in it.  Step ladders, laundry baskets, pegs, airers, hosepipe and lock for cupboard on terrace ... to name a few.  The ferreterias have most things but a trip to ikea and Carrefour are invaluable if you don't have much time and need to do it all in one or two hits.

It was fantastic to swim in the sea and the pool (both about the same temperature) and relax on our candlelit terrace listening to crickets in the evenings.  The Wok Buffet is doing a roaring trade - get there b4 10pm if you want a table.   There was a big outdoor concert - Creamfields - just up the road in Villaricos one saturday night.  Basement Jaxx and The Prodigy were headlining; we climbed to the top of our block and watched the light show.    Once you've done all the boring shopping, you can have fun in the many "Muebles" which are crammed full of lovely finishing touches.  We bought our garden set from Flomar close to Vera Sur on the dual carriageway approaching the island with fountain and bull ring.  They also had some nice light fittings, pictures and other goodies.

It's a scramble to get your shower cubicle and bath screen.  Many people are doing the same thing and stocks are unavailable until end of August/early September.  Vera Sur does supply and fit on a 2 week timeframe (prices include fitting).  We found a man who is fitting both for 50 euros so PM me for details - he came recommended by Wetone, turned up when he said he would and was efficient and helpful.  He does other fixits too.

Any questions, just ask.  Be glad to help.  Good luck with your own completions and you won't be disappointed.
