Last week we received an unfortunate telephone phone call from the caretakers of our apartment. (Thanks guys I know it was hard making the call) They delivered some news everyone doesn't want to hear ..... we had a burst pipe in the guest bedroom, just before our guests were about to arrive. It not only flooded the apartment underneath us, but also several storerooms. Although the problem was quickly fixed, my heart goes out to the owners of the apartment underneath us. We contacted the Administraters, who were a great help. They said they had had several reports of burst pipes on the complex, and were keeping notes of the cases reported.
If you too have had burst pipes please let the Administraters know. It could happen to any one of you. I think it is a result of shoddy workmanship. Even the plumber who came to fix the pipe said it was poor workmanship.
Unfortunately we now have a long drying out process, and mould growing up the walls.
BE WARNED When you leave your apartment empty for a short period of time, make sure you turn off the water. We always do, but we still had a burst.
