Anyone used Equity and Ward and Co?

Hi there

I put money down on a property with Amba Sun which is being processed nicely.  However, I also put some money down on a second property using Equity Property Portfolios Ltd who were taken over by Ward and Co.  Ward and Co have since gone into liquidation.  The problem is I have no evidence that they gave the money to the builders to claim it back.  

Anyone else had this experience and/or know of a way to resolve this issue?

Sorry to hear about your situation — it sounds frustrating. Here are a few steps you can take:

1. Contact the Liquidator – Find out who’s handling Ward and Co.’s liquidation (via Retro Bowl) and register as a creditor. Ask if your money was passed to the builder.

2. Check How You Paid – If by credit card, you might be protected under Section 75. For debit cards, ask your bank about a chargeback. Bank transfers are harder but still worth tracing.

3. Review Your Paperwork – Look for any agreements or emails confirming the use of your deposit.

4. Contact the Builder – See if they received any funds in your name from Ward and Co.

5. Join Other Investors – Search forums (Property Tribes, Reddit, Facebook groups) to connect with others in the same situation.

6. Consider Legal Advice – Especially if a large amount is involved.
