Stolen motorbike

Hi.

My motorbike is stolen from p-garage in block 2.

A white Honda.   Is there anyone who se something strange?

In addition to the stolen motor bike, apparently there have been other incidents of attempted break-ins into apartments, lockers annd property having been stolen.

There is now a call from some quarters for CCTV to be installed in phase 1 of Don Juan. While the cost of the equipment is a concern, I wonder if a CCTV system would be of any real value.

I cannot either imagine or believe that the Spanish Police will take the time to identfy any culprits caught on CCTV and then to locate and apprehend these criminals. A CCTV system is not going to be a deterrent for die-hard criminals and opportunistic burglars are unlikley to be put off if they kbow that they are safe from being arrested.

These incidents of thefts and break-ins are sad and disturbing developments in our community. We need to ensure that our properties are as secure as we can make them - we have to be vigilant and look out more for each other and develop a stronger community spirit as CCTV is unlikely to be the answer.

We had our expensive (over 200€) car cover stolen from off the car in our block 7 garage. The police were no help and only gave out a phone number which was impossible to get a response from. Many thanks to Irma who came with us and managed to get us through to actually seeing someone and making a statement. We have asked that the community insurance pays for the cost as it was in the communal garage.

We tend to agree that bog standard CCTV may not work and a more sophisticated system could be needed but would people agree to the cost implications? We would certainly prefer something that gave peace of mind even if it meant an increased monthly community charge. However I somehow don't think it will happen.

I am French and I live in Don Juan for 7 years ago and certainly on this forum well before you....
I just inquiete of these changes indon Juan 
Now buy you a moped before thinking that I steal cars.... You always have the helmet 😀
