Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort forum threads
The Comments

Hi, we have booked a visit on the 7th June to view properties at the Terrazas de la Torre resort via La Vida sales. I have spent time reading many of the comments posted with interest.  I would be grateful to have people's honest feedback about the resort. We are both in our early 40's with two girls aged 12 and 8. The plan is have family holidays for a few years then hopefully the two are us to move out there for longer periods. A few other questions I have are:

Can anyone give me a rough estimate of the monthly running costs - water/electric/ communtiy charges/ local taxes?

A stupid question, but we have just returned from a family holiday in Lanzarote and the internal walls of the apartments were paper thin and you could hear everything. I trust no such issues with the apartments here ?

I have been quoted approx €6000 from La Vida for internal furnishings/white goods and air con. I see people are mentioning DFS and Ikea as a alternative. Are these much cheaper ?. My travel time is very limited this year due to work comittments and wondered if will they deliver and assemble ?

Many thanks in advance for any feedback

Lee

Hi Lee

We brought in April via Blue Med invest who also sell a large number on Terrazas and are a little cheaper we found - so worth you checking them out too while you are out here.  We are also in our early 40s with an 11 year old son so if you buy it would be great to meet up.  We honestly loved Terrazas, although we looked at condado and liked that too, there are currently amazing deals on there and its more established.  But for views and peace and security we picked Terrazas and have a two bed penthouse.

Community fees are around 81€ per month! but this includes building insurance.  I imagine your girls will want wifi and british TV - thats another 26.50€ via A2Z on the neighbouring resort.  Its about 600€ to get water and electric connected - and then i believe the bills are slightly about British prices, we've not had a full period yet.  We also had air con put in the bedrooms for around 700€ each as we are told in the summer you need it.  We also have great key holders who charge 140€ per year - its well worth having someone on site to sort issues for you - for instance we needed to change our locks after purchase and on our first stay the stockcock broke so we needed a plumber arranging.

We used DFS for furniture, electrical goods (oven, hob, hood, fride, microwave, dishwasher, TV and washing machine, and lighting. It costs about 7000€ all in - including outside furniture.  The owner is from Manchester and we selected everything by visiting the shop and over the internet.  It was all fitted and installed for us and they lent us furniture for our first stay in place of things that had not arrived at no charge.  They are probably not the cheapest but i recomend them for convience if you aren't going to be there for installation.  We got bits and bobs from Ikea but i warn you there is a scary roundabout to contend with.  15 mins away in San Javier there is a shopping centre with an Eroski supermarket which was almost as competitive for plates etc and much easier to get to.

Do let us know can help in any other way.  Hope you have agreat trip

Tina and Gary - block 292

Community fees do vary by block but should be in the region of €1000-1200 p/a.

Water and electricity after connection fees depend on useage - aircon in summer and again for heating in winter will run up the bills.

Two  extra costs  are council tax - again depends on the apartments valuation by council but probably €350-€400 p/a

Also non resident tax - mine was €180 this year but again depends on catastral value

Hope this helps, if you need more info please do private message

Hi

We bought 1 year ago, and really love the place. We have a 12 year old son who also enjoys his time there. We purchased all our main furniture from Condado who were superb, buying the rest from Ikea and Leroy Merlin.

All prices are as outlined previously give or take a few £s.

Hope that helps and good luck

we put aside 250 euros a month and that covers everything.

We absolutely love it there, as do our kids, its very security consious and everybody very welcoming and friendly.

Airport 15 mins away, ideal,  and carhire very cheap.

Lots of place to explore and very cheap watering holes around the area!

We agree with all the positive comments, we've been on Terrazas for four years and we love it.  People are friendly and the food and weather are great.

Hi Lee and Tracey,

My husband and I are also interested in buying an apartment in Terrazas also and are currently planning a visit to view.  Just wondering what you thought during your visit? We have read so many positive reviews on here. Any feedback would be much appreciated :-)

Hi, We purchased at the start of the year and have just had our 6th trip out..love the place and getting to know the area. We are in our 40s and have twins who love it too. Everyone we have met is friendly and we have had already a few fun get togethers with other residents. Locally the beaches and the restaurants are fabulous..some great food and the fresh fruit/veg at the markets is fab!

If you have any questions just ask..
