Directions to the Blue Lagoon (Sierra Espuna)

I wonder if anyone could tell me if it is possible to drive to the Blue Lagoon in Sierra Espuna and if so could you give some directions please?

Last time we were over we went to the Hotel Mariposa which was shut unfortunately! We could see the lagoon but couldn't work out how to get there by car. We have two young children so quad biking is not an option at the moment unfortunately!

I seem to recall reading a thread once which stated that there was a road nearby but I cannot find it now.

Hi Michelle

To drive to the Blue Lagoon, you need to turn right on a bend about a mile short of the Hotel Mariposa, you will be on a gravel track (perfectly ok for a car), follow this road for as far as you can go, (about 2 miles), don't turn off on any of the tracks (BTW the first turning on the right takes you up to a great viewing point over Alhama), you will be driving next to a quick flowing canal, I think you go over a small bridge and keep going and you will come to viewing point for the lake, you can then follow the track down to the lake, you will have to walk the last 100mtrs.

hi eveyone....we tried this last year!!! we found it impossible, as we went down every track and found that most tracks had been chained off!!   this was on the road C-3315 exiting alhama de murcia!!

If you get google map up you can see there are some other tracks that look like they lead to the lagoon!! cant wait!!
