Diabetics in Spain - Medication cost and Medical care

We hope to complete in about 3/4 weeks and move into the Samos and Khios blocks,(we are in Samos) when we were there last, about 2 weeks ago, it did not look like anybody had moved in, we just wondered if we would be one of the first or not, and if anybody has completed and moved or nearly moved in, we would be interested to see how you were getting on and if you were having any problems.

We were in Khios last week for 5 days. There was another couple there, who were on holiday for 2 weeks. I dont think there was anyone else in Khios at the moment. There was someone in Samos but i dont know if they were on holiday or are moving in

We have moved into Khios, although only for holidays at the moment. We would be pleased to keep in contact with anyone else living, or staying, there.

We have some friends staying for a week from Wednesday 18th, so you will have company in the pool. We stayed at the end of June and it was fantastic. Make sure you go to Canuba beach bar, the food and atmosphere are brilliant.

We have had our apartment since January.

We are on the ground floor in Khios. We are going out 2 August. We will look out for you.. I presume we will see you around the pool.

Can someone tell me where this Canuba beach bar is? I can only think it is on the beach to the left of the Marina!

We like the straw donkey which is situated to the back and the side of the marina. This is american food. The kids will like it

Yes the Canuba beach bar is to the left (behind Ros y Falcon Office). We had the most amazing salads there. We are on the 1st floor of Khios and we are sure it was  worth the wait. The only thing we are really sorry about is the lack of rubbish collection and the walk up to the road outside Samos with our rubbish.

Does anyone know the completion dates of the other phases and whether we will be able to use the gardens and pools?

We mentioned the problem with the rubbish to the office but i dont think their are any plans to have another rubbish bin put outside our blocks.

I dont think we can use the other pools because our key for the main gate (khios and samos)does not fit the other blocks entry gate.

I went around and tried all the gates a few weeks ago

Thanks for the info. The rubbish point is a pain in the neck and it is not obvious where it is. When we were over some people were leaving theirs in the garage and we were concerned that this could become a health hazard.

Hi Neighbours, I am due to complete on a property in Khios which I agreed to purchase off plan some four years ago, how time flys! At the time of purchasing it was my intention to sell it on off plan, however never got around to it, so I suppose I should fit in well to the Spanish life style!! Now they actually want some real money to complete I should now start thinking about all this a bit more seriously so it would be good to hear from anyone that has either moved in or is about to move in! Can anyone help or answer the following queries:

a) Are there a good rental agents that anyone could recommend?

b) Furniture! What is the best way to furnish an apartment, buy locally, import?

c) If anyone knows anyone that would like to purchase an apartment in Khios then let me know, as I have yet to complete and I'm open to offers!

The agents have told us to find clients ourselves. They are willing to manage it for us. When we were buying the agents were saying no problem we will rent it for you. ha ha

A popular company to buy from is Imperial. They have a few outlets. Their furniture is good.

Speak to people in Samos. (The block behind ) They didnt get a pool so they might be interested in your apartment.

Its not a good time to sell because their are so many apartments for sale all over the Costa Del Sol

the place is very nice but it will take at least a year before all the building is finished

Hi everyone

Just some general info:

We are living in Milos. have been to the admin office to complain about the lack of the rubbush collection, they have contacted the council and are now waiting for them to extend the route. I have also asked them to ask the builders not to dump rubbish around the site or else we will end up with vermin. Cant get a phone connected Telefonica say the phone problem is with a surveyor, there is not enough lines in the urbanisation! Also I am querying the post, as at the moment you have to collect it from the admin office and it is only open 9 - 2 weekdays - no good if you are working.

Apart from that we are very happy. There are 4 pools in front of us and there is never anyone there. Watch out though with children in one of the pools - as there is a huge drop as you come off the bottom step. They´ve put the steps into the deep end!
