Well - I think things are looking good. Maybe not for end December, but I think we could all be in before Easter. The apartments are looking great. As we were leaving they had started the rendering - they are going to be quite light in colour - lighter than the sort of coffee latte of a lot of HN. We will post a photograph showing the colour - it is very earthy and in keeping with the whole development. The apartments are largely tiled and really taking shape. I think the factors which will slow us down are things like the swimming pool and the access road - which is dug out and ready for surfacing. The tiles in the shower rooms are a bit dark for my liking (in the show house they were a light blue), but they look good quality. The gardens are small but will still be nice (though those with corner plots have mega big gardens - hope you are keen gardeners!) There are three downstairs apartments listed for sale in the show house - priced at 162, 300. They are still marketing Los Rosales at 210,000 - so they have not all sold yet. There is a definite sea view for some - though it is in the distance and for some it will be lost to the new villas. Everyone has mountain views and they are spectacular. I will get some photos up as soon as possible. Linda and Brian

Cheers Linda & Brian

All sounds good, can't wait to see the photos, even better as well, seems the prices are going up. We are going to Mojacar on 23 Oct so will be able to provide a further update and photos.

Hi Linda & Brian

Thanks for the update & photos. The property's are really starting to look good. Is one of the pictures of the kitchen?

Have they started any work on the lake yet & did you book an inspection to view the apartments as we did'nt last time, but think we may have to when we go over next month.

They really are looking nice - and yes - it is the kitchen, which is longer and narrower than in the show house. They did seem to be building another bridge, and I did hear somewhere that the commercial centre is due to start by the end of the year. We did not do an inspection, but the second time we went one of the builders was happy to show us around. What do you think of the colour of the rendering? Linda and Brian

We like the colour of the rendering & think the site will look pretty with added colour of climbing flowers over the terrace area etc.

Did you see if our side had been plastered & tiled yet?

Looking foward to more pictures.

At the time we left only 1, 2, and 3 had been rendered - but I think it does not take long to do once they have started. I agree re colour - perfect for pink bourganvilla!!!!

Hi toall, this our first post on this site, but we,ve been happily reading your posts on progress on Los Olivos feeling optimistic &looking forward, with the warm atmosphere created, to meeting our new neighbours. Then today we received the latest Parador progrss report,as follows in reverse chronological order.

sept 14 ---no change since last inspection

aug 03---- "        "         "       "        "

june 21--- less work done than on april &march reports

so according to Parador the only labour used on our appartment has been to demolish walls &rip out wardrobes &doors.( 14a )

Is this Paradors incompetence or havethe builders not reached our part yet?

we would be so grateful for a reply .

Kind regards Haydn & Judy.

Hi ,this our first post on this site but have been happily reading all yours about the progress & a general good feeling about our future neighbours. Then today i,ve had the latest progress report from Parador which has left us confused,--as follows in reverse chronilogical order

sept 14----no change since last inspection

aug 3------ "       "        "       "         "

june 21----less work done  than in april &march reports

this indicates-according to Parador-nothing done since march except to demolish               walls&rip out wardrobes &doors

Sarcasm apart ,is this Paradors incompetence or has the build not reached  us yet

We are 14a. would be so grateful for a reply.

Kind regards Haydn &Judy .

Hi Haydn and Judy, I wouldn't worry too much about the reports - there has certainly been huge amounts of work done on all of the apartments, and they are pretty much all at the same stage. I am sure that there is no problem with yours and it is just the nature of the reports - ours from Atlas has shown no real change for ages, though each photograph is slightly different e.g. a digger in the front, or a whellbarrow - placed to give the impression of lots of work being done! Don't worry, Linda and Brian

Hi Linda &Brian,

Thanks for your reply .The information & photos taken so recently were so reassuring ,confirming our suspicions about the Parador progress report.

The colour of the outside is just as promised which is great, but the tiles which Michelle showed us ,which she had chosen on our last visit, were cream wall &floor in the guest bathroom, similar in en-suite with charcoal splashback which were very pleasing. The showhouse we were taken to was on Jacaranda which was quite different to ours &the tiles there were dark blue which Michelle said ,thankfully, they had now finished with.Let,s hope the progress continues

Kind regards Haydn & Judy.

Thanks for photos and update.

A bit disappointed that only a few have been rendered - but those that have look lovely, colour is what we had hoped for. Pergolas look good as well.

We too were told we would have pale tiles - the dark blue was really oppressive.

Looking forward to going out next month and checking progress 1st hand!!!

The rendering was happening really quickly - I have not put up the first photographs we took on Monday 4th September, as the rendering had not started. When we returned after a week, they had rendered the three you can see on the photos - so it can't take long! I would hope they will all be done by the time you go out. Best wishes, Linda

Hello everyone

I've only just discovered this website and it is great to have contact with other buyers on Los Olivas and very comforting to see the latest pictures.  My friend & I are buying 19b (one of the end properties, lower left) through Parador, and we too had been a bit dismayed by the lack of progress that their reports indicated.  It is so helpful to have indication that they may be ready for April as we were still being told Dec.  Love the colour of the rendering.

Best wishes to you all

Terry (the female variety!)

Hi Terry and welcome. We are all still being told December officially, it is just that all of the other phases have not completed on time, and having been over recently December seems unlikely. What a nice surprise it would be if we are all wrong and we complete December! However, I think that there is a difference in completion terms. Here in the UK, upon completion you take over the property. It seems in Spain that completion means the start of the legal process!!!! So the handover takes several weeks. If we think Easter, we will be pleasantly surprised if we are in sooner. Best wishes, Linda

We checked with our agents, Parador, last Friday and they say the builders are still assuring 31 Dec completion date.  From recent photos it does seem unlikey but Spanish workmen are very fast and efficient once the heat dies down.  Hopefully we will get more news soon from people returning from October visits.

Piccies uploaded! Sorry 1st few are a bit dark. The apts look stunning now they are rendered, and really stand out at the top of the hill.

OK, update as follows:
Kitchen tiles - white porcelain, brushed chrome border, lovely and bright. Shower room - white tiles, small brown tiles at sink area. En suite - caramac coloured tiles, same colour small tiles. Rooms look bigger now they are boarded! Arched window in terrace room for upstairs apts is v attractive, as are side windows in all.

Internal pics are from our apt, 11a. The lowest & highest numbers are more advanced (pics with shutters & door are of 1a), but not a lot in it. Kitchen units now being stored in 3b, so progress is being made. No work in courtyard yet though.

We met Pat & John of 18a (update plan please Terry!). they are currently renting a Jacaranda and impatiently waiting for ..... ahem....Christmas etc.  We weren't brave enough to see Michelle and ask for an update!

Sewage update - according to the local paper a new works is to be built at Vera which will take away the problem. Here's hoping.

Hi All,

The photos are really making the development look as if it is coming along. I'm going to be staying on HN from November 4 - December and am looking forward to seeing some progress. I will post photos whilst I am out there and let you know of any more progress that is made.
