BUILDING / CONTENTS INSURANCE

Has anyone had experience of the community insurance scheme?

We have been paying Intasure for the last 3 years for building and contents insurance.

We have been given a good quote for contents by Millennium using Axa, and have been told that building cover is provided through the community fees.

It almost seems too good to be true hence the reluctance to cancel the Intasure cover.

The community insurance provides cover upto to 72k Euros.  If you have a mortgage value greater than this then Axa can provide a certificate of insurance showing additional cover to bridge the gap between the standard policy and your total mortgage value.

You get Milleniun to provide the quote from Axa but this is often more expensive than the premium you might be paying through Intasure who are pretty competitive.  

If you're mortgage value is below 72k Euros then you're covered for buildings insurance and don't need to buy a policy as you've been doing.

I used to be with Intasure. Take a close look at their small print and the cover is poor and they don't pay out easliy if you need to claim. Much cheaper and better cover through the community and with AXA who are very reliable. JF
