As you may have seen on a couple of other threads, many owners are unhappy with the way things are going regarding entry charges to the Beach Club and the loss of discounts on golf and in the club house for our renters.

Following a phone call several weeks ago from another owner who suggested looking at forming a Residents Association, several of us are already talking by email to look at what, if anything, can be done.

I made a suggestion that if anyone was interested in forming an owners association they get in touch with me. To date I have received 8 replies so it looks as though it isn't just me who is "dis-chuffed" with what is going on

Another owner, Tony&Kim, has also suggestion an Action group - and whilst I'm wary of using this title for all the connotations that go with it - I personally want to find out if there is any action we can take to stop the things we bought into being eroded.

I have written to Housing asking for advice - although it being "silly season" still in Spain most people, including Marisol and senior employees at Calidona, are on holiday for the whole of August.

Those of us that have already spoken via email are trying to agree a date when we can meet up when there are a few of us around. Sometime around 22nd, 23rd or 24th September is looking favourite.

Our first get-together will be to look at
a) whether we have any recourse to regain the promised discounts etc that we thought we'd bought along with our property.
b)
look at alternative options - e.g whether we can negotiate discounts at other bars/restaurants in the LA area
c) approach other golf courses to see if discounts are available without having to use the "bucket shops"

We have a few other ideas to throw on the table so if you are interested then please PM me with your email address so I can keep you in the loop of when and where we are meeting up. Those of you who have already contacted me needn't do so again - I will add you to our list!

 Hi All

The Corvera owners who formed an action group over the failure of  the Developers to  build the promised 5* Hotel and leisure facilities - and then ignored all requests for an explanation -  have been successful in having a trial date set for their allegations to be heard in a Murcia court.

Go to the Telegraph website and enter "Corvera" in the search box, and you will see the whole article.

Don't know if this will help us, but it's a fascinating read!

Regards

Tony

A big thank you to everyone who has already contacted me - it is nice to know that there are so many people who are as concerned as I am.

We now have an agreed a date for our meeting. I will contact you all individually with a date, time and location.

Please do not re-post any info onto other forums as we would like to keep this meeting out of the public domain.

The Corvera owners have not formed an  action group this is actually a group that have been involved in a class action and that have not yet completed and are fighting through the Courts to get their money back on the basis that the facilities have not been developed

This also very old news as this was originally reported on 5 weeks ago in the press and obviously a good PR agent for the lawyer has got it published and all it actually means is that a court date has been agreed for the end of 2012

With what's now going to be included in the updated plans for the Corvera Clubhouse,it may be by the time that they get to Court everything in the original brochure, with the exception of the Hotel, will be built

They are now working flat out 6 days a week to build the clubhouse

All

So a group of nine people who jointly take legal action is not an action group? Hmm.......

ls it just me, but l  thought this thread was (a) called the Roda Owners & Renters Association, and (b) that it appears on the EOS Roda Golf forum? Therefore why would a non-Roda owner/renter be bothering themselves with posting anything here?

lt is interesting that the news is so "old"as he puts it, that someone has gone to the trouble of copying and pasting the entire article onto the Corvera Golf forum thread "A step in the right direction" , and that it has started what can only be described as a heated debate amongst owners there.

Although we are all delighted that things are now happening at Corvera l would politely suggest that, in future, and unless he has something positive to say about Roda, then RH might be better confining himself solely to postings on the Corvera forum.

Tony

PS Pommers - great news re the level of interest in the Association. Can you pm me and let me know asap when the meeting is please? Look forward to seeing you soon!

I think you'll find Roy has spent more time at Roda than a majority of the Roda owners to be honest.

His views and comments are always greatly appreciated.

Hi Stuart

I can imagine he has - but then hasn't that been as part of his making a living from visiting Roda, and not as an Owner?

l don't think we should be getting confused between someone with a purely commercial, ie business interest in what happens at Roda - and that's not limited to RH -  and actual Roda owners who have genuine concerns and worries about their properties, the lack of promised facilities, and withdrawal of Owners discounts etc - they really are two quite different things.

ln any event, in my opinion RH's posting added absolutely nothing to our argument, and l still don't understand why he posted here when the Corvera "A step in the right direction" thread is really where his concerns should lie. Fascinating stuff.

Anyway, hopefully you and l are both on the same side, and l look forward to meeting you at a future Roda Owners meeting. Let's hope we can have a positive effect on things going forward.

Kind regards

Tony

I think that my assistance to owners on a number of resorts more than justify my comments and that this forum, which I have been a member of for many years is designed to provide timely and usefull information from a variery and it is not as you put it, AN OWNERS FORUM

I feel that I have tp respond when the posting made abount CORVERA OWNERS taking action was so incorrect, this is a group of 9 people that have taken action through Irwin Mitchell

In the past my comments and advice has been in direct conflict with the developer, on more than one occassion they tried to stop my services and on RODA I have actually checked hundreds of properties and still am in regular contact with owners when advice is required

What the Corvera owners have done, which is very sensible, is created a PRIVATE owners forum which the can have a frank exchange on views, perhaps this would be a good idea for RODA owners

The biggest difference between the two resorts is the much higher percentage of non British owners plus renters

If you have a look around the forum this was actually reported on and announced 3 months ago, also featured on the Irwin Mitchell website,  with the FIRST Court date scheduled for July 2012  and, because it was pushed out by a PR company and pubished in a number of UK newspapers

Now I am not saying what Corvera has done is right also we are all watching what happens but perhaps this has been the catalyist to getting the loans and the clubhouse started again

Pommers I apologise that this thread seems to have been dragged off the main important task which is getting the RODA owners together in an action against the developers and I have no problem if you want to ask Juston to delete the last 4 posts, including this one

l think you are getting confused between a forum and a thread. This is a thread that was started specically for a Roda Owners and Renters Association - which you are not eligible to join.

My initial posting stated "The Corvera Owners who formed an action group....have been successful in having a trial date set etc...". l really don't see what was wrong with informing my fellow owners here of that, and if you are so concerned about it why didn't you post to that effect on the Corvera thread, rather than here?

l would suggest you should more properly address yourself to the clear disagreements that exist between your fellow Corvera owners, which are unfortunately spilling over into the public domain, and which is anything but PRIVATE, rather than involve yourself in matters that don't concern you.

lf this thread is being "dragged off" as you put it, it is because of your unnecessary involvement, and l see no reason why anything needs deleting just because you say so.

Good luck with everything at Corvera - it really does sound as if everything is moving in the right direction at last - but please leave posting on the Roda Owners & Renters Association thread to Roda Owners.

Tony when you run and moderate the forum you can then decide what goes where and my suggestion still stands so that the threads can get back to the focus that they should have

Perhaos there should be a thread called Tony using your logic where only Tony can post, because he has decided what the rules are, and it has been really interesting to see th run ins that you have already been having with other sensible individuals on this forum

This thread wasn't started purely for owners and like all threads it is all abount exchanging views, perhaps I am allowed to speak with the agreement of the numerous owners whose properties I look after on RODA

The expression is forum troll, what an absolutely pointelss arguement

Oh Roy, you really have gone too far this time. Perhaps that should be Forum Bully - which you clearly are.

Given the content of your last posting, and as Pommers and several other members who have pm'd me with a view to meeting for a drink and chat have suggested, l think l will keep my thoughts about the Association private in future. That way we can restrict the involvement of non-Roda Owners.

Again, good luck to all the Owners at Corvera - the new Clubhouse sounds like it will be superb. And good luck to the Corvera9!!

Tony
