Anyone have an update on corruption charge

Hello All,

Does anyone know  of any further legal developments since last years translated articles copied below?

The reason I am interested is because Urdemasa built most of Roda Golf and are one of the construction companies named as receiving alleged preferential treatment from Mr Hernandez. Urdemasa have gone bankrupt since the articles below were printed. I have asked Roda/Calidona/ Housing if the bankruptcy affects Roda ie guarantees, rectification works etc but they have not answered.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES IN FREEDOM WITH FORMER MAYOR OF SAN JAVIER

Former PP mayor of San Javier, José Hernández, was released Wednesday, although the imposition of provisional measures, after declaring before the judge of the court of First Instance and Instruction No. 1 of San Javier, for his alleged involvement in a operation of corruption, whose actions are declared secret.

Thus, the former alderman of this town has an obligation to appear in court every 15 days and has set the removal of passport and banned from leaving the territory of the European Union, according to the Superior Court of Justice (TSJ ) Murcia in a statement.

It also investigates if the mayor approved the Partial Roda Golf, which involved the reclassification of one million square meters of rustic land in agricultural Urdemasa interest to build a hotel, a golf course and 1,800 homes. This soil had that rating for receiving water from the Tajo-Segura for 26 years.

Urdemasa and Peins are two companies with major interests in San Javier. The first has been awarded numerous public works (including building the new town hall, underground parking, the municipal library and a day center for the elderly in the Mirador) and also owns part of the Partial Plan Roda Golf & Beach Resort (1,700 homes and golf course). ******************

It would be just our luck to find Roda had been built on reclassified designated agricultural land as have many develpoments on the Costas by dodgy permissions given by local Town Halls.

i am afraid we will find that like most guarantees given by builders or developers, they are not worth the paper they are written on especially if the builder is in administration or under investigation

You seem to be more up to date than the rest of us as very little information seems to be available on these issues
