Glen - You mentioned that the alarms are going of in the development - are you talking about Block 5 - 8 or Phase II Blocks 1 - 4.

When we first bought our apartment in February t(Block 5) there seemed to be a problem with the alarms - but it was sorted out and all seems to be ok now.

Louisen - was the info for the kitchen peopleof any help to you.

The blocks where the alarms were going off seemed to be  block 7 & block 8.

I have been advised to change the apartment door lock as soon as keys are handed over. Apparently new build properties are a particular target for burglars. Has anybody who has already completed their purchase experienced any problems with regards to this? Has anybody been advised similarly and subsequently changed their locks?

Eric

No, but it sounds sensible. Can you advise if you get quotes etc as I'll probably do the same.

I think the alarms are a waste of time, nobody takes any notice of them  and Secruity can't turn them off and enter the apartment anyhow. So we might as well do away with the alarm service and just change our locks.

Hi everybody.

I have an apartment in block 7 and took over in February. I have not changed the locks and will not do so. I have had no problems and I think that it is very diffucult to do break ins in La Entrada without been discovered. We have tv-cameras and security right outside our door.

I have not heard of any break ins and feel very secure when I am in the apartment.

There have been a lot of guests using the apartment since I took over, and everybody have felt secure. No Problems!!!

Whilst out in last week - we managed to put  in the code incorrectly on the alarm as we entered the apartment.  It made a funny noise and then the high pitched noise/bleeping.  Within a few minuted the security guard was ringing our doorbell.

In fact this was the second time that we had put the code in incorrectly and the alarm has gone off (previously in August) - and also on that occasion the security guard came to our apartment to check.

So therefore the alarm/guard system does seem to be working.

Hi Paulski,

At the first general meeting it was brought to our attention that the alarms were fitted by Falcon on behalf of the builders.  We were informed that there will be a charge for this facility of 42.60 euros per month per apartment for the maintenance and on call facility, which is covered by la Entrada general security.  As you can imagine, this was unanimously rejected.  We were also told that this had to be an "all for one and one for all decision".  This brought about alot of mixed feeling as the general conception by owners was that this was included free with their apartment purchase... Some may want to pay this, some may not.  We also felt that we could not speak for owners in phase 2.  Hence, the decision to pay proposed amount was declined and the committee were asked to discuss a better price and agreement with Falcon.  That, I believe will be one of the main topics to be discussed at the 2nd meeting on 27 November.   The new price I believe to be discussed is 35 euros per apartment per month.....................

Alot of alarms have been going off. Maybe this is because some apartments are empty and the alarms have been set by owners.  How do they then get switched off and by whom if there is no keyholder????

Hello all, we also live in block 7 and have been there since february. We have stayd there several times and always feel secure. I cant see that the alarms are needed here. I .would also like to say that we are wery pleased with the appartment, there was nearly no snag at all, and the snag list was done in a short time. I gess I was the only one that neew about the kitchen too. But they never told me any price, and the price was ever so high. I chose something else of withc they recomended.

We have an apratment in Block 6, and the list of 'hidden' charges seems to be growing! We were not aware that there would be a monthly charge for the alarm system, and are really not happy about this.

Also, our electricity charges seem to be a bit high, considering that we've not been able to use to apartment much to date. Any comments?
