Looking for good sales/rental agent

Hi there Folks

Its Steve & Wendy here in sunny Cornwall UK. We have just got back from a shopping spree in spain where we decided to buy into the dream of living and working in Spain. We visited various sites for new builds and decided on Hacienda San Cayetano as the place we liked the best. We are buying through Parador, DID YOU ? What PROBLEMS have you had or having ? We have been given a completion date of July 08. Did YOU complete on time ? Have you had any problems with the builder TARAY ?

We spoke with two ladies at No 7 phase 3 who had just started to move in , and they bought a year ago. They invited us in to view the finished property and all seemed good.

We are buying into phase 5 No 71. Who will be our neighbours ? Are you buying to rent out as holliday let ? Are you moving in yourself ? 

We are looking forward to the move and any help and advice we can recieve would be greatfully recieved.

Hope this dream won't become a nightmare ?????????

Congratulations on finding san cayetano... like you we thought it was such a lovely place to live. I dont think you have anything to worry about. We purchased through Parador and so far so good and Tarray have a really good reputation however if you look back through previous threads you might see there are a few frustrating delays regarding the licenses. You will learn so much by reading through all this lot... i did, its been fantastic.

We to are moving to Spain full time to live and work and our kids are looking forward to going to the local San Cayetano school.

Hi, No reason to panic?!!

I totally agree with Tina. This site is full of very useful information.

Colin and I have bought a Penthouse in Block three and we are hoping to get out there in May. We bought through Eden Villas, based in Scotland and our Spanish Contact was Costa Blanca Estates. I would not recommend them. We have had to do all our own homework but , with the help of this site and a very good Solicitor, we have managed it. We were told by our Spanish Solicitors that Taray are very good and reliable and we both think that San Cayetano looks like a lovely place to live.

We have bought as a holiday home, but I can guarantee, we will be having very long holidays and if the lifestyle suits, which I am sure it will, then we will consider moving.

we bough through Masa and have had no problems at all we get monthly updates on the build progress stage by stage which is exciting each time we see more and more work done at a good rate our is due to complete in Dec 07 we just hope that the legal side don't let us down as they we our is going it looks like it shall be ready before Dec hopefully, if you don't mind what part of Scotland are you in we stay in Livingston but are originally from Edinburgh , we also hope to move over but it shall be a few years yet,

Sorry but I should have made it a bit clearer. Colin and I live in Thames Ditton, Surrey. The reason I became involved with Eden Villas is because I saw an advert in our local paper from Eden Villas, Scotland.  I went onto their web site and found San Cayetano and fell in love with it. Hence I then made contact with them and they arranged our viewing trip with Costa Blanca Estates. I hope that has made it clearer.

We have completed on our property and our Solicitor holds our key. We are hoping to go out there in May, could be the first two weeks, to pick up the key and then arrange for all the necessary work to be done, ie, changing locks, security alarms, lights and air con. Then, I am going to shop until I drop getting the place fitted out.

Have you looked at the photos on the "shared photos" site? They are great.

like you our completion date is july 08 we bought in august 06 it feels like its never going to come .

we are going out there tomorrow for a few days cant wait i just looked at the master plan and your not far from us we are plot 76.

We have also bought on block 5 and hope to move in Spring of next year. The date given was March 08. We will be living there full time and our son will hopefully attend the local school.

This site is really fantastic and everyone is so helpful & friendly and the photos are great.

Message for Strewth - Gill & Colin - have you been able to complete without the LFO? If so do you have any guarantees from Taray regarding the utilities?
