www.simplynetworking.es is reporting that the new airport operators are now recruiting staff for jobs.  They are looking to appoint 1200 people onto training courses for the airport.  There are many job types listed if anyone is looking.  From assisting passengers with special needs to restaurant staff to firemen and many other options associated with airport services.  Good to see that it is all moving along now.

2012 some time may be open??

You will know when the airport will be ready in 12 months you will be able to book flights, until the first day you can book a flight it's a pretty safe bet the airport will be open for business 12 months later. The airport authority will not let a terminal open without six months fully operational trial period. Again this 12 month rule applies to terminals handling people and bags......... not airspace therefore don't hold your breath for flights this year. May be sometime in 2012. I haven't heard/seen/read of any airlines flying to Covera.

The other forum has reported that a visit there this week saw that glass was going into the terminal building and site was busy though from the photo the land around the actual building wasnt exactly laid to roads and car parks! We went to have a look middle of last year and all the access roads from the motorway are all in place as was signage, So it does sound as though real progress is being made.

Wouldn't worry about roads and carparks...they can knock those up very quickly (if its just ground level).  And they are probably waiting to minimise any heavy vehicle traffic used for the building driving up and down the kerbs.

My hope was to be able to book 2012 summer flights into corvera...might even be able to do so.

I haven't heard of any flights or airlines announcing anything but wouldn't really expect it at this stage.  Ryanair announces new routes all the time and they don't have a long lead in time.  Airlines would also be waiting for confirmation they will have an airport to fly into!!
