For those of you not to familiar with Spanish football its good news we have 2 teams from Murcia in  Secunda division. Even better news is Real Murcia are still lying second despite losing to Almeria yesterday.

If their postion remains the same they will be promoted to the Premier Liga which means next season they  will be playing against the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Has anyone been to see them play.??

Hi Sugarmummy

I have not seen the team play yet, but I hope to take a game in soon. I have heard that the new stadium is superb,  Its called the Nueva Condomina and is a fantastic 32,000 all seater stadium. the shopping centre located across from the ground has over 200 shops and some fantastic Bars and restaurants .

I have heard that you can buy tickets on the day from the stadium ticket office and prices start at 15€  in the lower tier and 20€  in the upper. They have also just signed a player,  from Burnley football   club .http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=223377

The stadium does look superb and Ikea is also located across the road, which might come in handy!!

Another shopping mall has also recently opened close by called Thader - not half as good as the other one, in my opinion.

Hi,

We're buying at Corvera - completion due in 2008 - I am a keen Arsenal fan and would be interested in meeting up with other football fans - no matter what persuasion - with a view to going along to watch Murcia in between games of golf.  Anyone interested?

Whats the location of the ground?

How far from Roda and what are the transport links like, does anyone know?

I should be able to watch Everton there in the champions league by the time I move in.......??

Hi,

The football ground is opposite Ikea on the outskirts of Murcia. Does anyone have contacts regarding youth football, my son Frazer (11 years) would like to train with a local side when we are out on holiday.

Any more nights like tonight in San Marino and I'll think about moving over full time in embarrassment. Dear oh dear.

Hopefully Real Murcia have a better manager than Stan "I'm the gaffer" Staunton.

Hi Frazerthomas

Try this link to F.C.Torrevieja, they have a junior section at the club. I believe Ed Cagigao is the chap to speak to, his contact details are on the website.

http://www.fctorrevieja.com/uk.html

Evertom  I think you would need to travel by car to the ground, the good news is the car parking is free I believe.

A good friend of mine who has purchased a property at Roda did tell me that a number of players from the Valencia Football Team, had also purchased properties on Roda.

I don`t think I should say anything about the game last night.

A rugby question on the Spanish Football thread (seems like as good a place as any!)

After seeing Johny Wilkinson in the flesh Saturday leading England back to respectability at Twickenham, I have been checking  wherabouts for the rest of the Six Nations fixtures. We are staying at Roda on 17th March, the day of the last game v Wales. Does anyone know a bar/hotel near Roda likely to be showing the match?

Many thanks

I'm sure you will find a nearer place to watch the game near than this, but its the only place I know of..

We stayed in Lo Pagan  a couple of weeks ago and had a great night out in a couple of the bars,  one called Club Ibiza  just head down the main st heading towards the harbour about mid point on the left  this is a Brit type bar  with a large screen.    friendly with a mix of nationalities.

For later there is a really good spanish fish restaurant  further down down the same road, located where the road opens up the harbour.. Name  Venezuala  ( or something like ti )

GR8 result for our home team last 1-0 against fellow title challengers Cadiz. This puts 4 points between us and 3rd place.

Next season we will have  Real Madrid and Barcelona etc 2 look 4ward to.

I dont have the info to hand but i will find out and make a new posting.

Ticket prices this season start at 15euro to 60euro, I assume there will be a hike if they are promoted .

GR8 result last nite 3-1 victory which means we are 8 points clear of 4th place. 3 teams are promoted so its looking good.

It would seem unless some thing unforeseen happens we will be hosting Barcelona etc next season. !!

Well done Real Murcia, another GR8 win last nite which puts them 10 points clear of 4th place.

On this form they look certain for promotion to the Premier Liga.

Thanks for that news, It certainly would be great to get promoted. How many more games are left this season, when does the season end? We're over in May, wondering whether we could catch a game if they're still playing?
