Equestrian Centre

Just to let people know that today, while onsite with a client, we visited the site being built up as the equestrian centre, built on the hill by the old show properties

If anybody is onsite we have been told that people are welcome to visit

Now in place are the stables, some jumps and excercise equipment and they are now building the ring and while there we met George, the stable keeper who introduce us to the 7 horses, one of which is about to foul,  that are already based there and showed us around the tack room and the area that will be the bar and the built patio with BBQ

They are waiting for some ponies to join the group for the children

The facility will eventually be able to livery 60 horses and will be offering a full range of riding lessons and excursions, for more experienced riders into the surrounding tracks and mountains and is well advanced and should be open for the Summer

Nothing much happening on the clubhouse but they are still saying September for finishing but I will keep people updated with any more news

As I mentioned in another thread, my wife and myself just got back from Corvera last nite, we had a great week.

I have uploaded a few photos of the start Calidona have made to the Equestrian Centre. They have cleared and levelled some land round where the old sales office and show flat were. There are some stables and a few jumps, also some potted trees over to one side that look they are to be planted at some stage soon.

It is not that much to look at yet, but great to see that they have started it. It will be interesting to see how it develops over the coming weeks.

I visited the equestrian centre on Friday last week with my grown-up daughter (a novice rider). The centre is really taking shape quickly and will be a great facility in no time I think.

The two gentlemen who run the centre were very helpful and charming. My daughter was well-impressed and has decided to book a week at our house at Roda just to take a block of riding lessons.

I hope the centre is a great success as it offers something different and of high quality to everyone in the area.

It would be great if a bus between Corvera and Roda materialises as it would be very handy for Roda owners  for  this facility as well as for Corvera golf.

Good afternoon to one and all. This is going to be a positive and encouraging posting, so I apologise now all of the people reading this forum was completely negative views.

We have recently returned from a week at Corvera visiting our new Magnolia Villa on the development in phase 2.

We were impressed with what we have seen so far and believe that in time Corvera will prove to be a beautiful place to live and spend time on vacation. It has the makings of a very beautiful place that will be incredibly peaceful and relaxing.

I know that there are many frustrated owners and investors out there but there is nothing we can do but wait and hope that the world recession ends soon and financially for all of us things pick up. This is not the fault of Calidona.

The golf course is looking fantastic and there were a few owners playing on the course at the time of our visit. We met the golf professional who introduced himself to us, and hope that the clubhouse will in time be finished to match the quality of the golf course surrounded by it.

We also visited equestrian centre. We believe this to be one of the jewels in the crown of Corvera. The owners and stable hands introduce themselves to us and facilities, and gave us a guided tour of the stables and horses. It was a joy to behold and this is going to be a fantastic place to spend some hours watching the horses and riders being put through their paces whilst the non-riders are sipping their beer and wine on the terrace. We cannot wait to go back and will be there in mid-May and look forward to seeing the further progress that develops over the next few weeks.

We also met Lorraine and Roy of the inspectahomes spain, for the very first , having spoken to them on many occasions on the telephone and by e-mail.

Lorraine and Roy have made the process of completing and buying our Villa  and the snagging process far less stressful than it would have been without them, and I would recommend to anybody out there that is about to complete, to use their services, and quite frankly I do not know how we would have managed to get this far without them.

They are kind and considerate incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and more importantly value for money.

The first day of our trip to Spain Lorraine and Roy met with us and transported us in their vehicle to all of the discount furniture warehouse stores and linen shops that they knew. Here we priced up and compared with larger stores and returned to the stores they initially recommended to us to buy most of the essential items for our Villa.

FCE were fantastic value for sofa beds and dining room furniture, the bedding box were brilliant and good value for all types of bedding and towels. and the Style House for garden furniture and beds, again fantastic value. These were all Lorraine and Roys recommendations.

Good luck to anybody about to complete, have faith and give it time I'm sure it will all be worthwhile.

As I said in my last post on this subject I think the equestrian centre is going to be excellent. Does anyone know how much a block of lessons will cost?

Just a small clarification as there have been a few comments that the Equestrian centre is a private concern.

It has been confirmed that the Equestrian Centre IS A PART OF CORVERA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB and it is being run by a contracted 'specialist' team.

Thanks for that Steve, best photographs yet.  Roy told me there are now six horses and two ponies stabled at the Centre.

Thy had a big evening event which is the story and I went up with somebody that wnted to book lessons and was charged €150 for 8 lessons

There is coffee and vending machines in the bar so far

They really only instruct in the mornings early orevenings as it is too hot during the day, yesterday 34 degrees
