I FEEL ITS WELL OVERDUE AND HIGH TIME WE REPORTED SOME POSITIVES ON WHICH WILL BE A FANTASTIC RESORT AND  A GREAT ADDITION TO RODA GOLF..

WE TOOK A TRIP OVER LAST WEEK AND WAS PLEASED TO SEE THE CLUBHOUSE TAKING SHAPE  OVERLOOKING THE 9/18 HOLES.

THE DRIVING RANGE IS ALREADY OPEN AND COMPLIMENTED WITH SEPARATE PUTTING AND CHIPPING AREA WITH BUNKERS.

UNLIKE RODA THERE IS A GR8 FEELING OF SPACE.

THERE ARE MANY HOLES WHERE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO OPEN UP THE SHOULDERS.

THE RESORT IS VERY CLOSE TO CORVERA VILLAGE WHERE WE TOOK  LUNCH WITH 4 COURSE MENU LA DIA FOR 10 EURO INC LARGE BEER AND CAFE.

was there any signs of work at the clubhouse? what impression did you get from the sales staff, did they seem

upbeat and confident. we were over at the end of oct last year and we were well impressed with what we seen. we

are on phase 3 at the entrance and know that it will be a long time before we get our keys but still feel that things will

workout eventually. i stopped looking at eye on spain for a while as all the post were depressing so its nice to get positive

info for a change.

good luck to everyone. linda

Hi all,

Great to see some positive comment on this site for a change. The article mentioned below re the possible Paramount theme park makes interesting reading, hopefully something will come of it. Heard a rumour about this before, but had heard no more since until now.

I know we are all disappointed that our resort has taken so long to come to fruition, and we are not there yet. It is fair to say though that not all that has caused the various delays has been the fault of Calidona/ Corvera.  They (and their selling agents!) were probably over optimistic (to put it mildly) about completion dates, but outside factors lengthened the delays as we all know now. Also, their sales literature could definitely have been more 'honest' re arrival of facilities!

Many people who would have had no problem completing had currency moves not gone against them are now finding it difficult to complete. The global credit crunch came just at the wrong time. There was also a lengthy delay in building in Spain due to a scandal involving planning. None of these were the fault of Calidona. Had the property market continued to rise and currency not gone the wrong way it would be a different story for many.

I live in Ireland, and we have many many 'ghost estates' and abandoned commercial developments here. The property crash is probably worse here than anywhere, with probable writedowns of 50-60% in some cases. We may never see these developments finished, and some economists have even proposed demolishing them. At least Calidona are continuing to complete our resort, and are now building the Equestrian Centre up on the hill where the old sales office and show flat was.

I agree with sugarmummy and lmcg below, that in time Corvera will work out well. I am going out there on Saturday for a week and will see what is happening and upload more photos etc when I get back.

Best of luck to all, and looking forward to many happy holidays in Corvera,

Ian

Keeping up the positive feeling, we closed off at Christmas and are currently getting the place furnished.

We used Roy for the snagging and he is extremely thorough and quick to respond to all queries. Plus he provides a few other helpful ideas not part of his general remit.

We have used Moira from Superior interiors for the furnishings and I can honestly say we are getting a far superior decor to the one provided by Calidona (or any other we saw), plus considerably cheaper. Plus it will all be done for us, including assembly from Ikea for those items. Moira will measure your apartment and suggest numerous options and prices for each room and provide pics of all alternatives to choose the end product yourself. And also provide extra shelving etc if needed. Another advantage to this is we are not limited to one shop.

Regarding the development, it is looking fantastic. We're back in May again. Can't wait.

 Hi all,

Keeping on the same vein, Phase 2 Menta, completed December

We also used Roy Howitt and would recommend his services to anyone currently completing as you require somebody to visit your property and keep you updated on how Corvera are progressing with the snagging as I am sure everybody who has completed to date will confirm this is a painfully slow process.

Like Frank 11 we were lucky enough to come across Moira from Superior Interiors who has been brilliant, from organising joiner, locksmith, electrician, furniture for indoors and outdoors including fitting of bathroom accessories internal shelves and drawers for the wardrobes and blinds / drapes  (still to be finalised)

We are using Apolloair for the aircon which is being installed next Monday as I am going over on the Tuesday for 4 days to ensure all is well for our first family stay during the Easter break and I will give a view on there service on my return, although so far Steve at Apolloair has been first class.

Just came across this story.

http://www.abc.es/20100227/cultura-/paramount-elige-murcia-para-201002271236.html

I know it was mentioned below but it's positive that another site is running with the story.

Hopefully, it's more than just rumours.

M.

Just bringing the IMPORTANT positive threads back to the top rather than the slaggings from people that are of no interest to Corvera Golf Owners

Hi Frank and Brian

Many thanks for your lovely comments and recommendation.

It is much appreciated and I look forward to seeing both properties completed in the next few weeks. I was in both apartments today and the views were fabulous. We had a cool wind but a very sunny day.

Moira

Good afternoon to one and all. This is going to be a positive and encouraging posting, so I apologise now all of the people reading this forum was completely negative views.

We have recently returned from a week at Corvera visiting our new Magnolia Villa on the development in phase 2.

We were impressed with what we have seen so far and believe that in time Corvera will prove to be a beautiful place to live and spend time on vacation. It has the makings of a very beautiful place that will be incredibly peaceful and relaxing.

I know that there are many frustrated owners and investors out there but there is nothing we can do but wait and hope that the world recession ends soon and financially for all of us things pick up. This is not the fault of Calidona.

The golf course is looking fantastic and there were a few owners playing on the course at the time of our visit. We met the golf professional who introduced himself to us, and hope that the clubhouse will in time be finished to match the quality of the golf course surrounded by it.

We also visited equestrian centre. We believe this to be one of the jewels in the crown of Corvera. The owners and stable hands introduce themselves to us and facilities, and gave us a guided tour of the stables and horses. It was a joy to behold and this is going to be a fantastic place to spend some hours watching the horses and riders being put through their paces whilst the non-riders are sipping their beer and wine on the terrace. We cannot wait to go back and will be there in mid-May and look forward to seeing the further progress that develops over the next few weeks.

We also met Lorraine and Roy of the inspectahomes spain, for the very first , having spoken to them on many occasions on the telephone and by e-mail.

Lorraine and Roy have made the process of completing and buying our Villa  and the snagging process far less stressful than it would have been without them, and I would recommend to anybody out there that is about to complete, to use their services, and quite frankly I do not know how we would have managed to get this far without them.

They are kind and considerate incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and more importantly value for money.

The first day of our trip to Spain Lorraine and Roy met with us and transported us in their vehicle to all of the discount furniture warehouse stores and linen shops that they knew. Here we priced up and compared with larger stores and returned to the stores they initially recommended to us to buy most of the essential items for our Villa.

FCE were fantastic value for sofa beds and dining room furniture, the bedding box were brilliant and good value for all types of bedding and towels. and the Style House for garden furniture and beds, again fantastic value. These were all Lorraine and Roys recommendations.

Good luck to anybody about to complete, have faith and give it time I'm sure it will all be worthwhile.

Why are you repeating what has already been posted? All previous postings remain available for everyone to read.

Is there something missing from your latest post that is new?

No just interested to see how long it would be before you who 'does not care about anybody elses business' took to try to deflate a positive posting from somebody who is quite happy with buying on Corvera.

Not long was it?

I presume you mean me. Since I have not said anything negative, however, nor made any comment other than to ask why you are cutting and pasting previous postings, I don't understand your remarks.

I've added a couple of photos of the riding club from our visit this past weekend (sorry they're not the best photos as I took them through the fence!).  I'm not a horsey person, but it looks ok, there are jumps set up and a decked area with patio tables and chairs with a barbecue, and a block of (what look like from a distance) wooden horse stalls.

I have also put a couple more photos of the course and the clubhouse works up on this forum from the visit that Harry and I made this past weekend.

We spent a couple of days at Corvera, having a look around and talking to a few people.  The development is really looking lovely with the greens shaping up, the plants are maturing and flowering and all against the backdrop of the Carrascoy mountains.  It is so peaceful, the wild flowers are in bloom and the air is scented with orange blossom, and wild herbs.  Yes this sounds very poetic, but that is how it is and so I make no apologies, that is exactly what I envisaged the location would be like.

There are a number of people already in residence and we met a few of them - a thankyou to Pelly and Lorraine who kindly invited us for a cuppa and a chat after we only just met them in the car park of the sales office, and the nice couple (sorry should have asked your names!) who we briefly chatted to over a beer at Miguels.  Everyone we met seems very positive about Corvera and it is nice to get that positivity.  There were a number of people out playing golf on both days we were there and good to see the course and the driving range in use, and to speak to the people in the pro shop.

We understand from Pablo that the club house should be ready by November this year and that the course will be opened to the public this summer.  Miguels is ok as a stop gap , but Corvera really need to focus on getting the clubhouse finished now.

As for recommendations for somewhere to eat, if you drive out of Corvera village heading east for a couple of miles to a place called Banos Y Mendigo, there is a hotel called the Venta Del Puerto which has a bar with tapas, restaurant and deli.  We had a very good lunch there on Sunday.  Seems very popular with the locals!  Thanks to Pelly and Lorraine again for this recommendation.  We were staying in Los Narejos for this visit and there is also a very good restaurant there across from the shopping centre, called El Patio - with a big barbecue and yum Spanish food.  If anyone can recommend any other restaurants / bars / places to visit in the Corvera vicinity, it would be great to hear them.
