Candidate for President of Phase II 2009/10
I am writing to let all Community Members know that I will be offering myself as a candidate for election to the post of President at the forthcoming AGM.
My wife and I bought our home here in September 2007. We moved from Ireland in March 2009 and I am now resident in La Cañada II.
For the past 18 years I have been a senior manager in the Northern Ireland Civil Service with the role of Project Manager. During this time I have managed teams of up to 150 staff, including the management of external contractors. In tihs time I have had responsibility for budgets of up to £10m per annum. Prior to becoming a Project Manager I was a Management Consultant for the Health & Social Services Trusts (Hospitals) in Northern Ireland. During this time I qualified as a “time & motion” practitioner.
Because of my background I believe I would be ideally suited to lead the team responsible for managing our Communities affairs.
If elected I would work towards delivering the following objectives in my term of office:-
- Achieving a habitation certificate for the community;
- Maximising the security of the community;
- Minimising Community fees through the development of the most efficient Management processes;
- Increasing the involvement of Community Members in decision making; and
- Maximising the availability of information to community Members, particularly non-resident members.
