Just posted a few snaps of one of the Calblanque national park beaches. These are over the other side of the mountains from La Manga club. Natural unspoilt coves, nice soft sand with great breakers rolling in. Local surfboarders paradise. Could not go too far out on the day though because of the undertow - lifeguards on hand to blow whistle on anyone creeping out too far when red flag flying.

Regards,

Good Evening will & Jackie ( Sorry just noticed the time.)

Good Morning.

How far are the beaches for Condado?

Two of  my son`s friends are keen surfers .but neiher have been there, so they are very  interested as a new venue for their holiday next year.

Thanks

Jan

Hi Jan,

It is about 45-50 mins drive from Condado. Just head for the Mar Menor strip/La Manga club and drive on past the turn off for La Manga club. A short while further on you will see the sign (brown background type) for Calblanque national park/playa's. You will turn off and head down a gravel track for five minutes or so and to get to the surfing beach just keep bearing left whenever there is a junction in the track. They are al signposted, in Spanish of course, but you can get the gist of what they mean.

I see the photo's have not come up - I will try again this morning. The bay we visited is the next one along from the surfboarders beach. It was just a short stroll along and quite interesting on passing seeing all the Spanish families set up for the day with their gazebo tents and portable dining tables and chairs, just sitting chatting away watching the waves roll in. Like walking on past someones dinner party with the tablecloths set, wine on table, full bifta - very civilised I must say.

Regards,
