In the interests of fairness I think we should also start special threads for the 'screamers' and 'heavy breathers' as well.

Moaners? What could we possibily have to moan about?

We have 2 overpriced bars (Soon to be one), there isnt a restaurant within a 4 mile radius, Golf Suites Shelved, other 2 courses and Oasis will never happen (lets face it!),properties are worth 70% of what we paid! No Clubhouse! No Hotel! No Driving Range!...... Hmmm??? Maybe I have found my home on this thread!

Still on the bright side, ladies are exposing their breasts in the Clover, so its not all bad, they charge me a tenner for that in town!

Hi Darren,

Don't think your a moaner just the ultimate pessimist.  What exactly do you want and what makes you so convinced that our other 2 golf courses won't be built?  Yes I do think that the Oasis could be more than a few years down the line but in the economic climate this make good business sense.

You do have a driving range and a practise area, ok it is not your typically british driving range but this is Spain and not Britain.  Your restaurant on Condado is being completed and will be open shortly.

Please remember Roman wasn't built is a day and niether will Condado.  Good things come to those who wait.

Allways look on the bright side of life dah dah dah dah

Try and be an optimist for just a day, you never know you might like it

Ali

Hi Darren, do you really think it would have been wise for PW to carry on full steam ahead with all the planned developments slap bang in the middle of a global recession and economic crisis, because you seem to be disappointed that they haven't. Given the lack of buyers at the moment how do you think the Oasis would have been financed? And if it had been, do you think they would get enough retailers willing to take up the units just now?

Personally I'd be far more worried if they had kept on building regardless rather than taking the sensible approach of putting everything on hold until the global economies pick up and the buyers start to return.

I don't for one minute think PW haven't made mistakes or are above criticism but to moan about the lack of development just now in light of the global economic downturn, which is of course outwith their control, is unfair.

They've done what could be reasonably expected of them in that they've completed the construction of everything they had already started, will shortly deliver a world class golf course, and have built facilites in Al Kasar which although basic are IMO adequate for the current size of the resort.

Sure our properties are worth 30% less than when we bought, but again that's hardly PW's fault. And I take the philosopical approach on that, we always bought on CdA as a long term investment and we could just as easily have lost at least that much or more if we'd invested our money in Stocks and Shares instead.

Sorry, but my glass is still very much half full on this one. No regrets here, life too short.

Graham, how are you - nice thread you started (ho ho - it's just like fishing, attach some bait and reel 'em in !)

Cappie, what a refreshing does of realism which puts it all nicely into perspective.

The nit picking that goes on in these forums with people looking to bash PW at every turn for every minor thing is unbelieveable.

Like you, I'm delighted so far

I fully understand all the reasons that Polaris didnt deliver what they promissed. Howver surly the point of this tread is to moan, so I started with a few of the commone moans! Not saying they are my views or I agree with them. What I do find annoying is the fact that any negative coments have to be religated to a "Moners Thread"

I can understand a "Football supporters thread" because football comments tend to take over a thread and the original reason for a thread gets lost.

However when you have threads regarding vandalism, Theft, Poor Management, Poor security, Lewd behaviour, its not suprising that everybody who posts on those threads are not full of positivity! Yet everybody goes mad as soon as someone posts a "moaning comment". We dont have a thread entitled "post for Happy Happy people" and so I disagree with a "moners thread". However I played along and had a moan on the moners thread, as I assumed it may provoke some debate.

I am a strong believer in free speach, a place where positive and negative comments can both be aired. As soon as you get threads which try and banish those "none happy" people, it becomes a like dictatorship. "All forum members are equal....but some(happy posters) are more equal than others!"

Although I am playing devils advocate, I do believe that there are other people who are not entirely happy, but feel too intimidated to post here, due to the "Moaner Bashing" that goes on. In some cases I feel the bashing is unfair. Today a lady said that she thought a drink and two twix for five euros was a lot of money. In reality I think she has a point, although the responses that came back I fealt were unjustified.

If this "moaner bashing" continues, you may well achive a forum full of "Pro Polaris" people, but others looking for a forum offering a balanced view will have to look elsewhere.

Surly all these people who moan about the moaners are moaners themselves????

Does that make sense, I have been drinking! But I have not had a twix beacuse I cant afford both!

I hadnt thought I was moaning on other threads just stating an opinion.

We wouldnt have bought if we didnt like the place or think it had potential- it was always a ten year plan for CdA. I'm quite glad PW didnt continue building as we dont have those awful skeletons on half built properties lining the sky line. They seem to have taken a sensible approach to all that, and they were fine with us all the buying process was relatively smooth. We like the Clover but would prefer the topless dancers to stay away and drunken louts too (personal preference others may not agree) We love the way the Jardines are laid out, envy the Penthouses their views and wish we could have afforded to buy on La Isla.

I just dont want it to deteriorate to a 2* as I'm not a rich man and have paid as much as I can afford to live on a 5* dedevelopment. Cant see whats wrong with wanting to have good standards.

My moan for the day is - why doesn't the pub have wine on the 'happy hour'  I am NOT happy on beer and I'm even less 'happy' on a soft drink.  It's a sexist promotion and it should be addressed at once.  Beer or a 'soft drink' - I don't think so.... ........

Disagree, it's alright if they want to get them out for the lads, but it is very age dependent, no good if they do get them outand they end up dragging on the carpet. Not good.
