Sorry if this thread has been picked upbefore, but we're new!! We have an upstairs apartment on Naranjos 4 and would love to install a hot tub. Does anyone know of any regulations or problems. Does anyone have one? We've asked various times to Polaris people without a definitive answer. Used some very good tubs on La Torre when we have stayed there but don't fully know the pitfalls or running costs. Is it just as simple as "go ahead"

Help appreciated Dave & Max

Hi Dave & Max

Welcome to the forum!

One of the first things I wanted to do is put on my rooftop was a hot tub, and last summer there was alot of talk on the forum about this.

The one problem that was talked about was an issue of the weight of the whole tub and water thing.  What stopped me going down this root (at the moment) was, I was told that Polaris World refused to sell hot tubs to Jardines 2bed rooftop, so when Polaris World refuses to take your money for something there must be some to think about?   I don't Know?!?

Next time I'm out I'm bringing a Big Quick blow up paddling/swimming pool!  Water's great fun.

Maybe some one can tell something different?

If not pack your blow up paddling pool just in cased.

Hi Dave & Max

Welcome to the forum.

We have a 2 bed !st floor gargen apartment and also a hot tub at home in Blighty, for us these are the issues ....

250 Gallons of water weighs 1.136 metric Tonne plus the weight of the hot tub plus the weight of the people using it all concentrated on a relativelly small area of roof terrace . I do not believe the roof structure has been designed to take such a weight and PW will certainly not confirm it. (I have asked)

The hot tub water needs to be continually circulated and chemicals added to keep it fresh and clear, this is an issue if you do not live on Condado or have someone who can check this for you.

The running cost can be quite high depending on the temp of water maintained etc ours costs £30 pm to maintain at 38 C in winter in the UK. Obviously this should be less at Condado given the weather conditions.

So this has put us off the idea so far......

There is a company called Eurospas at El Pareton (about 10 mins away from Condado) I would suggest a quick visit there may give you some more information.

Thanks Jackie & Phil

Your answers are pretty much as we suspected. We found the Eurospas website and our daughter is out at the apartment at the moment. Probably ask her to try once again to get written verification. Have to wait for pool to warm up!!! Clair says its freezin at the moment. Site is looking lovely, better each visit and like most, can't wait to see golf course (courses) finished. Foro in June may be a tad optomistic!!

Hi Dave,

We were told by PW that a 4 person Soft Tub would be ok ( http://www.softub.com/modelsfeatures/softub-220 ) if place in a corner.

Phil
