We are over in time for the Spanish celebrations from April 5th and wondered where there were any local festivals or even a big festival if not too far away. Any suggestions.

Every town has parades during Semana Santa, they start on Thursday and are during the morning and evening.  I know in Cuevas they are late at night and are worth watching.  The one in Vera is supposed to be great as well.  I will look out for any timetables and post on this site

Would be great if you get times and locations for any celebrations at Easter. We are out on the 4th and as we missed the three kings on 6th Jan we would love to take part in some Easter celebrationsa.

We are out at Easter as well and as we have never been to a fiesta before we would like to see the Semena Santa parades. I have hunted everywhere on the internet but although it is mentioned in all sorts of websites I can't find anywhere which says what time the parades are and in which towns. Does anyone know?

If you google "Turre at Easter" there is some information & You Tube footage of the processions through the streets. I understand that Turre has the Passion plays performed during Holy week so Thursday/ Friday would be key days.

In 2007 we were is Spain for Easter weekend & quite by chance we were in Mojacar Pueblo. After Mass had finished they carry the 2 large statues through the streets & back up to the square. It was lovely to watch & all the better because we hadn't expected it.

We arrive on 4th April & I think we will probably go up to the Pueblo on the Sunday to see if we can get any info, as we know that there are English speakers likely to be at the church. Come down to see us some time that week & I'll let you know what we find out.

it has information on semana santa in almeria and recommends the Huercal Overa and Cuevas del Amanzora parades

 they have been designated as Fiestas of national tourist interest in Andalucia

this web site has lots of other information on as well and is in English as well as other languages
