Apartment for Rent in Almerimar (Alta Entinas)

We own a 2 bed semi near the small pool on phase 1. Within a few hours of us arriving last month, the house was broken into in the evening, security grill pulled from window, tv and many other things stolen. Then 3 days later, we popped out for just over an hour in the evening and on our return, house broken into again and more things stolen. They left a terrible mess inside the house both times. The grills that the builders fit are no good and are easily pulled from the wall.  I understand that several other houses have been broken into on phase 1 & 2. We are now back in england and frightened to return incase it happens again.  There must be eyes and ears on the site somewhere to know when we are in and out of the house in the evenings.  Has anyone seen anything.

I know some people who recently completed on an Apartment on Colinas De La Zenia Elite.  They went out to stay for 10 days at new year and sure enough they got burgled just a few days after arriving.  I took a walk up there myself over Christmas and there is no security around........just a few builders finishing off a few properties.  There are always 'eyes and ears' on new build sites.  It is a big problem especially on new developments that are not yet completed.  It is a shame as you have obviously invested a lot of money in what you hoped would be a relaxing home in the sun.  Maybe you can get a professional company to install more secure grills on ALL the windows and doors and also get an alarm fitted.  La Zenia is generally a nice area and I am sure that once more people complete their purchases and you have some full time residents on the development things will get better.  Don't give up hope just yet...........

I've just completed on one of the apartments (came back at weekend when the weather started to get better) but im not moving anything in at all until i've had grills fitted.  One of the big clues to burglars i'm told is the outside light and possibly the air con motor depending where its located. Once they're fitted its a sign that its changed hands from the builder.  I suppose the burglars move around the new sites looking for easy pickings, once the site becomes inhabited and established hopefully the criminals will move on.  Its a lovely area and i hope to be able to enjoy it without too much hassle.
