Hiya

Some of you will already know this however I have just had an email (5th Dec) from DFS - Spain informing me that it is Bank Holiday this weekend (Again) and they won't be open until tuesday next week.

This I am sure will be everywhere in the area

Cheers

Graham

I manage a team in Madrid and last November and December it seemed like they had more days out of the office than in because of public holidays.  The holidays fall on specific dates (rather than ours being Mondays predominantly) and they are mainly falling on weekends this time so I have a team of disappointed Madridians!!....I'm alot happier though!

It´s not all good - in general when a bank holiday falls on the weekend it doesn´t get moved to the following Monday like in the UK. For example when Christmas Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday - we lose it. Still we´ll make up for it with the other days !!!

New Years day is thankfully a bank holiday !! And also the 6th Jan - 3 Kings. This is traditionally when the children get their presents. Most Spanish shops & stores will be closed on both days.

A friend of mine lived in Spain for a couple of years and she said that January 6th (which is The 3 Kings )is a big event and people celebrate by setting off fireworks and parading in the streets (I think she said  that's when they celebrate their Christmas) .

Would love to see it but I work at a school and we go back on the 5th!!!!!!
