Hi Everyone,
I can't say that i am an avid television viewer, however i have visited several forums where there is a lot brits complaining that the English TV channels have recently been closed down by the Guardia Civil around Torrevieja.
Does anyone know if this is happening throughtout Spain, or just on the coast?
Are there any plans to allow for english television channels to be made available at Finca Parcs?
Can't see myself watching much- but nevertheless it would be handy to have something to watch during the winter months.

We have been caught up in this situation with one of our properties, we have been here for a number of years and until recently had spanish and uk tv.  Our property in the costa has not been effected so far and is supplied by torresat, we are still receiving uk tv stations on there although they have cut some of them out recently. It seems that sky and the uk have complained about us receiving uk channels without a licence to do so, and not paying as such, or so they say !!!  Not exactly true as we pay the service providers here in spain.   The main problem is with a company called telmicro, we have been with them for over 5 years at our main property in the campo although the company before was called cina electronica. There are many stories flying around at the moment from the company being sued for tax evasion to illegal re-broadcasting of uk and sky channels, at the moment nobody ( except telmicro staff ) knows the real truth behind the matter, so for the past month or so it has been speculations as to whether we will actually get our english tv back or not. We have spanish tv as well for which you do not need a license and although most of the programes are not of much interest to us the sports channels are very good and we are able to follow motor gp, f1 and football and world news no problem at all , but no soaps for the missus though, still as i always tell her we didnt move here to watch emmerdale,  and tv doesnt rule our life, or should i say it doesnt anymore !!  So until we get to know the real truth about the matter it is going to be difficult to detirmine what the outcome will be for english tv over here,  we will always get some as there are many free to air channels, but maybe its the end of the soaps for the ladies, who knows.       Chingo
