ACTIN, making changes for animals in Spain.

Animal care Treatment International Network has been set up to make changes for the animals in Spain, who suffer abandonment and cruelty. What we plan to do is to bring awareness of the problems to the world’s media. We need to promote education, new legislation and support neutering campaigns. It is necessary to get support Internationally to put pressure to bear on the Spanish government and to persuade them to take more responsibility for the lack of animal welfare in Spain. ACTIN plans in the future to bring about these changes through media awareness. Actin will tell the truth of how it is on an everyday basis, particularly in the country villages of Murcia, where there is a lot of ignorance and abuse. They will tell of what the volunteers deal with and how the abuse of animals is getting worse. ACTIN will endeavor to bring about campaigns for sterilization and education in schools. There is a need for a Society to protect the animals and this is what ACTIN aim to do in the future but we need much support to achieve our aims.

Please do not forget them
Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Those lost are not forgotten, in their memory we continue this fight.

Thankfully there are many more in Actin’s care who have survived the pound and who are safe, some are even homed – but, at 500 euros a week for residency, outstanding vet bills and legal fees against the pound, we need funds and support for their care and homes.

We do not have a shelter, we are not a rescue, we just could not leave them behind and now we cannot help the one’s left, all we can do is continue the legal case. Please dont forget them just because they are safe in our care, as we have the burden and cannot do it without help and support..

We have to listen to reports of the distressed cries coming from the pound and knowing we cannot go back there, as they are preventing associations from adopting and rarely can anyone get through to the adminstrator.

Please remember this goes on elsewhere too, it is wrong and it must be stopped and we want it to stop, help us with this landmark case and hopefully it will.

If you can help Actin with donations then please do. PayPal is admin@actin-spain.com or donate via our donation page… better still join as a member and be updated on the case and in so doing you can help us with legal fees.

All of the dogs in the album here  are available for adoption, or can be sponsored for their care and residency until adopted, which will help Actin so much. Please contact adoptions@adoptaspanishdog.com

We have many others too, that were rescued from bad situations prior to the pound case, please check them out on our Facebook page

Your donations have been superb, thank you!
Sunday, February 9, 2014

There has been a fantastic response to our pleas for help over the Christmas period which, with other fundraising, has made it possible for us to pay just over 5000€ in vets bills and 2301€ in unavoidable expenses; enabling us to proceed with legal action and rescue 40 dogs from the pound. So a huge thank you to everyone, whatever the size of your contribution, you have made this possible.

We still have dogs needing veterinary and residency care and currently owe 2000€, not to mention the on-going legal fees to bring this nightmare case to a conclusion. Along with the surviving pound dogs we have others still in our care that were rescued before Christmas. These were all from unacceptable conditions and the ensuing legal action continues in the background. It's also business as normal for Actin’s other activities , planning campaigns, education and sterilisation.

Please consider making a contribution or becoming a member or supporter of Actin. As a member of Actin you will be emailed regular newsletters and have access to the member’s area on the website where you can keep up to date with information about the association. Follow this link to see the levels of membership and the benefits to you and our campaigns.

We continue to grow and develop and cannot do it without your valuable support. Thank you
