No Rain in Spain!

Published on 9/1/2011 in Holidays in Spain

The great British summer is in full swing! Here we are deep into August and the weather outside is absolutely stunning. Beautiful sunshine and record temperatures...or is it?? In actual fact the weather is probably the worst in recent memory. Even the winter months weren’t this wet and dreary! Every single year we hope for a bit of heat and sunshine, and every single year, by August time, all we seem to get is rain, rain and, yep you guessed it, more rain! Instead of buying record numbers of shorts and sun tan lotion, we are instead buying record numbers of umbrellas and welly’s!

Britain apparently is also one of the only countries in the world that talks about the weather, and if that is in fact true then it is of little surprise as we are always so disappointed with the offering we get every year. Of course we talk about it! It’s something for us to collectively moan about as we then turn to a variety of travel websites as we frantically look for a cheap getaway to somewhere with a daily dose of sun, sea and sand! All the things we here, in Britain, do not have.

The most common getaway destination has become Spain as we love the weather (naturally), along with the culture and the cuisine. Spain is also extremely well priced as it’s not too far from Britain. It is therefore easily accessible via different methods of transport. You can choose to fly, or alternatively if you prefer, you can choose to drive over thanks to the Eurotunnel.

Beach in SpainAs a result of the influx of British tourists over the past few decades, Spain has had to cater to all the interest. There are huge numbers of properties available for British tourists to stay in ranging from five star hotels to some lovely quaint villas. Spain truly is a property hot spot for British tourists and ex-pats alike that look to buy abroad.

Since the economic downturn we have seen a slight dip in interest, however, recent figures were released that stated that there has been a 24% increase in the amount of Brits taking a renewed interest in Spanish property. It seems that holiday homes are back on the agenda; therefore it will be important to hunt around for that crucial holiday home insurance deal in order to protect that beautiful new property!

Spanish property is also a fantastic investment for the future. Many people see it as a business opportunity. With Spain being so popular, not only here in Britain, but all over the world, there is a huge demographic of possible tourists looking to rent accommodation, and if you have bought somewhere near a popular tourist attraction then you will likely benefit every single year, whilst also having a home to stay in whenever you choose to venture to Spain.

Spanish property is a certain money maker at the moment, and if you are looking for a holiday home, it should be top of your list! It almost guaranteed also that whilst it is raining over here, there will be beautiful sunshine in Spain.

Well it has been pouring it down here all day.... so it does rain in Spain. Just think of all those damp walls which will need a few days to dry out.....
