The Canary Islands Holidays

Published on 8/21/2007 in Holidays in Spain

The Canary Islands are the beautiful and enchanting islands that are located to the south-west parts of Spain and north-west parts of African continent, off the coastline of Morocco. The holidays in Canary Island will be full of fun and enjoyment because Canary Islands are best among those attractive places which offer some of the greatest and magnificent beaches of fine sand. Besides its big resorts Canary Islands offer panoramic views of fine-looking mountain top hamlets, tiny fishing villages and many areas of beautiful wilderness with primitive forests and volcanoes.

The Canary Islands are one of Spain's self-governing Communities and are completely incorporated into the European Union as one of its remotest regions. It has 257 kilometers of long sandy beaches. Its annual average temperature is exceptionally pleasing with only 22? Celsius / 71.6? Fahrenheit. In other words the Canary Islands have the benefit of an incredible climate with a unwavering temperature all through the year.

The Canary Islands has six major islets and seven islands, namely the Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, La Palma, Gomera and Hierro. Their northern-most perimeter is situated 29? & 25? N and their southern-most perimeter is 27? & 38? N. Their highest altitude is 3,718 meters, Peak of 'el Teide' on 'Tenerife'.

On the other hand 'Tenerife' is the largest island of the Canaries and almost undoubtedly the most popular, among the tourists particularly from the United Kingdoms. The centre of the island comprises of a mountain range with the volcanic cavern 'Canadas del Teide'. In other places there are rich valleys growing bananas tomatoes and various other crops with a shoreline that offers spectacular scenery and large fine sandy beaches. Gran Canaria Island has a wonderful mountain range in its centre. The island has various landscapes and diverse climate zones with a blend of deserted land, mountains and wide sandy beaches with of course tropical forests all over.

What more? Fuerteventura has the best and magnificently fine sandy beaches in the Canaries. Only a hundred miles or less than that separates Fuerteventura from the Africa. There are many more large fine sandy beaches nigh to 'Puerto Rosario' the capital of Fuerteventura. Also, there is 'Lanzarote Island' which has an astonishing landscape. And it is of volcanic origin, akin to the other Canary Islands. What's so beautiful about this island is many of its parts are covered with ashes and lava that make it look like the facade of the moon. However of all the islands 'La Palma' is the slightly urbanized island in the Canaries that receive charter flights from the United Kingdoms and is also the most westbound. Its immaculate landscape is incredible for Canaries walking holidays.

The Canaries on the whole have something for everyone, from the clubbing of neon lighted resorts and karaoke to the enchanting beauty of small fishing villages, and the tranquility and peacefulness of white-washed mountain peak hamlets. With its abundant heavenly beaches of fine sand and hot & sunny temperature all round the year - it makes a perfect holiday for families, friends and loving couples.
