Bonalba golf courseBonalba Golf Course is an attractive 18 hole golf facility designed on the periphery of Alicante City; about 10 minutes drive from the city centre. It is very close to the shimmering sands of the San Juan beach. Golfers can enjoy playing at Bonalba golf course all through the year. It opened for play in 1993 and was has been designed brilliantly by the well know golfer Ramon Espinosa The different kinds of holes and the spectacular design of the course makes it a very challenging and intriguing course to play golf. It is an 18 hole course which plays to the par of 72.

It is located overlooking the Mediterranean just adjacent to the Bonalba Mountains and offers spectacular panorama of the Muchamiel region in Alicante. The Bonalba course plays along gentle ridges, extensive fairways, and uneven greens with tactically placed lakes. It is especially a challenge for golfers who enjoy taking risk but is an exciting and demanding course for golfers of all skill levels. The course is speckled with diverse range of trees such as pines and palms. There are a few water bodies as well as numerous bunkers all through the golf course. You will enjoy playing your favourite sport on the these wide fairways and greens.

The Bonalba golf course has been host to several professional competitions, such as the First Round of the National Professional Golf Circuit, European Challenge Tour and the Costa Blanca Challenge. In fact the club entertains over 60,000 golfers every year.

The initial nine holes of the course are particularly technical in nature. Golfers here need to play over three of the five lakes on the golf course. You don't have to get concerned about the water bodies, because when played from the front tees, it is easy for all golfers to manage them satisfactorily. You need to be very cautious on 6th to 9th as this can decide on the score you finally achieve. These three are known as the 'Amen Corner' by the local golfers.

Bonalba golfThe last 9 are also technical, but here you need more strength to hit the ball to overcome the strong breeze which blows over the course adding to the difficulty of the greens. The diverse variety of the Bonalba Golf course guarantees appealing and the wide fairways and the palm trees offer pleasant surroundings. The course is open for play all through the year with a chipping area, 3 putting greens and excellent practice bunkers. You can hire clubs and also enjoy private golf lessons.

The vegetation is classically Mediterranean and this breathtaking location on the Alicante coast makes sure that there is no deficiency of good places to stay. Bonalba golf club also provides spa facility for golfers to relax after a satisfying session of golf.

The golf course is typically flat with a few well pronounced slopes on the final four holes. This course if not very old but has a very mature atmosphere. It is regarded very highly by proficient golfers, and is an excellent choice for a golf vacation. Bonalba golf club is very easy to access and it is located in the newer suburbs of Alicante.
