W am interested in understanding the reason for large variance in Community charges in golf course.

We understand that on resorts such Las Ramblas near Villa Martin charges can be as low as €170 PER ANNUM for a two bedroom apartment or €260 for a 3 bedroom villa but other resorts such as the Polaris resorts are talking about over €150 PER MONTH for an apartment and many more times that for a villa

If anyone has any suggesteions and in particular examples of fees from other courses we would be very interested.

Many thanks

Teresa & Pete

My husband has played at Los Ramblas a couple of times and compared to the other courses in the area the club house is very bleak.  There's a barrier and an office for a security guard but we never saw anyone there.

Community fees are set by the amount of facilities that are commonaly shared.  I'm not surprised by the projected charges for Polaris World, personally I would have thought they would have been higher.

There are some very good threads on here regarding community fees and if you haven't read them it might be worth your while searching as they really explain the difference between what some communities pay compared with others.

Briefly if you have lifts to maintain, gardens, security guards, cleaners for cummunial areas, pools open all year, life guards for large pools,  you can expect to pay very high fees.

I live on a very small community and we have a small pool which is open from June to September.  We also pay for street lighting and my fees are around the 130 mark.  If Los Ramblas are 170 then maybe they have a similar set up.

My husband now plays at Campomoar, he thinks it's in better condition.  The properties now have electric gates to stop others driving through, it would be interesting to find out how their fees compare with Los Ramblas.
