Offer at Argos, item 286 / 1962 only £6.97 (I've bought two). 
Inside hand baggage regulation size of 55 x 40 x 20 cm (It's actually 50 x 38.5 x 17.5 cm)
Expandable.

APOLOGIES...........
It was advertised in the latest offer brochure which ends tonight BUT it was actually advertised as a "best deal" rather than an offer.
I have just looked in the main catalogue page 246 & seen this price is their normal price.
SO GO GET YOUR HAND BAGGAGE 50 x 38.5 x 17. 5 cm

I don't believe it !! (in the words of Victor Meldrew )
One of the cases we bought has a fault inside (nylon coming away on one side of the inside zipped bit that takes paperwork) so needs to go back. They'd better have a replacement.

Has anyone took these argos cases on a flight yet as hand baggage. I just bought 3 of them for the wife and kids and they look quite big. Dont know how they will get them in the overhead lockers. Good value if they get away with them as hand baggage though.

Samson, the case is advertised as being 50 x 38.5 x 17.5 cm (allowance is 55 x 40 x 20 cm) Just measured ours, it's 50cm excluding the feet which are 5cm , other measurements are accurately described. So on limit.

Yes the cases from Argos worked fine. My wife and two girls had one each and they was fine with them. The check in staff just asked if they had any hand baggage,looked at them and said "thats fine"
The cases weigh 2.5 kilos empty so with Monarch you can pack them with up to 7.5 kilos.Making the total weight 10 kilos.
They also fitted in the overhead lockers without a problem.

Just wanted to check, we fly next Thursday (countdown has begun!!) and are flying with Iberia and there hand luggage is 14kgs and hold baggage has increased up to 23kgs.

Hi Karen
i just Googled for "Iberia hand baggage restrictions" & found, for economy, it's actually only " 10 kg max. 56 x 45 x 25 cm " (but see Iberia's info below as dimension changes to 55 x 40 x 20cm, which is ok for the size of this case anyway).
Size of the case is under limit but check weight as you seem to think you're allowed 14kg, which is for business class, not economy !

Just a word of advice...........if you are travelling out of terminal 5 ! expect to have your hand baggage checked!! We have travelled with 2 hand cases for 3 years and never been questioned! until we reached terminal 5? and both are well within specified size!

You should really start a new thread for that snippet of info, call new thread TERMINAL 5 Hand baggage probs" or similar. The info will get lost if just in here as this is just about buying the cases from Argos !
