Hi all my names Louise and we are moving over towards the end of the year and Id love to know about the towns/villages you live in and why you chose to move there. We have three children 11, 10 and 3yrs old and are currently learning spanish now. Ive introduced myself on other forums and believe me we are doing this with rose tinted glasses OFF ! Ive heard all of the reasons about why NOT to move over and would now like some positives - look forward to hearing from you

Hi Louise

You don't say where you & your young family are moving to in Spain. We chose Guardamar as it's got a fantastic beach (our villa is 2-3km inland) & is more Spanish than Torrevieja, about 6 miles away to our south. There's lots of interesting towns nearby. We've lots of friends in the area, many from EOS who we've met over a year.

Hi there well we currently live in the UK, Hazlemere in Bucknghamshire. My brother in law moved to Duquesa, an area we are quite familular with, in August last year and we are visiting him in February with a view to making our minds up for sure but I think we already have !
We have three children Chloe 11, Carl 10 and Millie-Grace whose the ripe old age of nearly 3 !!
We have started to learn Spanish at home but my oldest two already learn at school. I think we've almost decided that they will all go to a Spanish school which I know will be a struggle for a bit but they've started to chat with children on Manilva Mums forum. I casnt imagine a better life for them really, apart from getting used to school, you know they can go swimming whenever, the beach, the parks basically enjoying an outdoor life rather than being stuck indoors 24/7 like they are here especially after the summer we had last year.
My husband is a partner in a firm and will be 'commuting' back n forth to the UK which will be hard for us but the children dont get to see him much during the week due to the hours he works and when he is in Spain they will have better quality time with him which is why we are looking for a place to accommodate my brother in law, so I wont be on my own.
I just cant wait, Ive read all the 'beware before you move' advice and still my heart is saying 'just do it ' ! ive been rambling on about it for years, especially since my best friend from school moved to a little village near Carboneras three years ago, I just love the way of life in Spain and the family life too.
