Air Miles

I was thinking about colecting Air miles but have been put off by the limited airlines that participate. Their website only shows the "main" airlines as accepting them for payment. Does anyone know any different?

I used to travel a lot in my previous job and accumulated quite a lot of BA miles. I find it is not very usful for reasons 1) BA does not fly to Almeria, 2) airlines always 'black out' the peak dates when you actually want to travel 3) even you use the air miles you still have to pay airport tax, for short haul flight to Spain it does not save much compare with budget airlines at end of day.

If your job or your credit card spending come with air miles, that is fine. But I would not actively collect it.

In my job I currently have cards to collect Nectar points and Tesco vouchers. I was looking for something a little more convenient now we will hopefully be flying a bit more often. I was hoping the air miles scheme wasn't just a cartel for the "big boys", but I suppose it isn't cost effective for the budget airlines to join in .
