A small friendly British type cafe bar.  We spent a few evenings there drinking wine (9 euros for a bottle of house red) and eating basic but tasty pub style grub.  They were extremely child friendly and had a childrens' menu too.  Good for when you're feeling homesick but don't want to go to a cheesy Irish / English bar!

Didn't try it but apparently they do a cracking breakfast and Sunday roast too. Looked very busy when we passed late Sun afternoon.  The staff were a good source of info too - local doctors, shops etc.

Would agree with your comments on Beccky's, we found them really good value, the meals are very good and the staff very friendly and helpful, spent a lot of our time there.  Will be going back again when we go out again to Duquesa.

does anyone know if the canadian chap who ran a coffee shop at the marina in Duquesa (cant remember what he called it but there was a chalkboard outside which was quite amusing) is still there ... he did the most delicious choc brownies ... i believe his wife did the baking.

Yes it was called the Straw Donkey on the front.

Its now called the Straw Donkey and is on the NW corner at the back. So walk along the Marina front to the end (Gilbraltar end) and up the steps, bigger premises and a children corner with toys etc.

Good value restaurant

Thats the one!

Thanks for that ... he's a great guy .... and the food was really good value ... especially the choc brownies !!!     Glad to hear he is still going strong.  I take from what  you say that he is up where the Italian restaurant is/was.
