One of the best eating experiences I have had (ever) is in Pilar De Horradada - just up the road.

The restaurant is El Gallego.

It is a Steak/Seafood restaurant and offers (in 2013) the El Gallego fillet steak, and you get two succulent fillet steaks for that!

Yes I agree - try to replace the battery as a first step - should be quite easy to do, small screw drivers & a bit a courage required. Should be fine if you like to take things to bits & fix them. It's kind of a hobby for me.

Hi,

Cabo Roig can get extremely busy during the 'summer' - i.e. when Madrid is shut down for a couple of months. The main road through to Torrevieja can get extremely congested.

Personally I would go just down the coast to Los Alaczares on the Mar Menor, very close to San Javier airport. This place has a great feel and is less busy.

Locals (Brits) on the ground in Los Alcazares and surrounding area appear to doubt that Corverra will open any time soon. I am not sure where/what the source of the info was - but they do regular trips to Sa-Javier currently so would have their ear to the ground.
