The batteries have corroded in both my Daitsu aircon controllers and neither of them work now.

I have bought a generic controller but it needs the Daitsu control code as in the self setup mode it doesnt work .

Is there anyone who knows what the Daitsu code is?

I drove to Alicante last weekend to deliver our car for the Summer, flew back on Monday evening.

Took the Norfolk Line ferry to Dunkirk on Thursday evening and picked up a cheap hotel. Early start Friday to get through Paris before the Friday afternoon rush and arrived in Clermont Ferrand at about 1600. Could have easily driven a few hours more.

Next day left at 8.30 motorway all the way to Barcelona and then down the coast to Javea arriving at 1900.

My Mondeo averaged 46mpg at average over 70mph and we stopped every few hours for a break and coffee.

I used the Viamichelin.com web site to plan the route. This site allows you to choose the route depending on preferences and will calculate exact costs including fuel and tolls and work out the timings. Its a brilliant site and will even print out the driving instructions..

My recommendation is to buy or borrow a TomTom with euro maps and speed camera alerts, it makes circuiting Paris on the periphery so easy and the speed cam alerts probably saved us a fine or two

All in cost door too door including Ferry, 2 nights in hotels, all meals for two and fuel was 451 euros

Only been there once, but I agree its a beautiful city.

Be sure to have dinner at El Rincon de Pepe and a pre dinner drink in the basement bar - superb!

LHD UK registered Opel Vectra (like a Vauxhall Cavalier) for sale near Moraira.
Its 'J' registration, fully road legal with current UK MOT & road tax.
We bought this car last year in the UK and drove it through France to Spain where we leave it at Valencia airport and have used it at our apartment all year.
Before we drove it out we had it MOT'd, serviced and put on new Michelin tyres.

At some time before we got it , it must have had a new engine because it runs really sweetly and quietly and has never given us a moments worry. It runs better than many hire cars.
We have done about 5,000 miles in it and it's as happy on the motorways as it is through the mountains.

Faults to point out, there is a small chip on the windscreen, a scrape on the wheel arch and the heater fan squeaks from time to time.
For it's age the car is in good condition, the interior particularly so.

Its' got a nice CD/radio player. The CD player will play MP3 cd's and there is even a USB port on the radio so you can play music from a memory stick. An audio input cord allows you to play from an iPod.

We are asking £1,2500. We can show the car w/c October 3rd or w/c November 6th, outside these times it will be parked at Valencia airport.

We have saved a fortune on hire cars this year; due to work commitments next year we wont be able to use our apartment so much, so we decided to part company with the car

email me for more info or photos

Martin
