Hi there,  I am new here & my husband and I have recently completed on a 2 bed apartment in Playa Golf II.  It's been furnished and we went out there this weekend to check it over and ensure that it is rentable.  Overall we were happy with the complex and location although we had absolutely no idea it was so huge.  Once completed, it will be lovely I'm sure and can already see huge potential when the gardens etc have matured.

On a less happy note, we returned to UK on Sunday evening to be phoned this morning and told that our flat has been broken into.  The first attempt was through the front door as there were dents in the framework by the latch.  As that did not succeed, entry was made via the balcony door (we are one floor up from ground level).  How did they do that?

Fortunately, there was no other damage or theft apart from 30 Euros which we had left as payment for a small job to be done and the front door key which had been left for collection by the management company.  We were the only people there on our street the whole time so must have been very conspicuous to anyone watching.

My husband and I are gutted though as it really leaves a nasty taste in ones mouth and we now have to pay to have locks changed and wrought iron grills fitted all for 30 Euro woth of theft!

Hi Mrs Clooney,

We moved into our property in late October on Playa Golf III. The moving in went well but as you have experienced the threat of burglary is always on our minds.

When we were there a couple on the next road were burgled, the crooks ripped off the grill on the downstairs window and searched the whole house. They took nothing in the end but the trauma of the theft spoiled what should have been a pleasant though stressful experience.

All I can say is; change all your locks, install key operated window locks, secure shutters internally (you will find a picture of some shutter clips on the shared photos page under Playa Golf III), have fitted security grills on doors and windows, get a monitored alarm fitted.

You would probably do this in the UK, so why not in Spain.

Sadly there are some undesirable Brits in Spain as well as other nationalities, and no doubt some of them will be on Playa Golf (ask the security man).

But at the end of the day you will find this sort of thing happens all over the world, the benefits of were we are, are; the residents are nice and friendly, there’s sun, sea, sand, sangria and a healthy lifestyle, so if you can enjoy your new home.

Sping.
