Hi Is anyone buying in dona julia with Larsol. They don't seem to have a clue to what's going on. Went to the Larsol office in Estopona and the guy couldn't tellus aything. Can anyoe help.

Hi, I have switched into El Capricho De  Dona Julia from the other bigger LarSol development in Manliva. You are right, it is very quite and LarSol website is not that informative either. I have not been to the site but was told that it is well built as LarSol development is the last one to be done next to the Hayat 5* hotel.

DO NOT BUY IN EL CAPRICHO!!

At the present time, the developer Grupo Lar is in the process of cancelling most contracts after a long period of negotiation. Originally they were due to complete by June 2009 but they haven't even started work yet and there appears to be little chance that they will.

I am amazed that units are even being offered for sale in May / June 2008, as in my opinion the developer has no intention of building the development. They no longer even have a building permit, as they had not started work within 12 months, so would have to apply for another.

Hi Ed007,

You are absolutely right and I have also given up on LarSol and accepted my lawyer's suggestion to cancel the whole transaction and demand my deposit + legal interest back from LarSol. I am counting on the fact that all deposit monies are actually kept in a 3rd party escrow account.

Who are your lawyers? Lawyers of Spain? If so, I bet they are trying to charge you additional fees of €600 for the cancellation negotiations? If they haven't yet, I'm sure they soon will.

A word of advice ... the 1% fees you paid Lawyers of Spain up front include the cancellation of the contract (0.5% is charged for the private purchase contract and 0.5% for either completion or cancellation). Lawyers of Spain are trying to charge all clients that are cancelling contracts with Grupo Lar, including the Lar Sol development (where I have a unit) and the El Capricho development, additional fees of €600 for the cancellation negotiations. They have no right to do this as clients have already paid their fees for the cancellation. When you consider that they have about 30 clients at these developments, that is a considerable amount of money (€18,000) for work that has already been paid for by their clients.

I am refusing to pay these fees and I suggest that others do too. To avoid Lawyers of Spain trying to hold onto my cheque until I have paid their fees, I intend to fly to Malaga to collect my cheque directly from Grupo Lar.
