Having  purchased a home in Playa Golf 3 may I express my disgust at the situation we were left in .Apadron was impossible to obtain due to the lack of a Certificate of  Habitation,a telephone land line not available for at least two years and to cap it all,we were burgled twice in three days.Needless to say we are now back at home in the U.K and rebuilding our lives.I only hope that this does not happen to others  living  there .Good luck.

,Its me again,the person who started the topic of the certificate of habitation and was burgled twice in one weekend on playa golf 3.I am just writing becaue every day I feel so angry at the agency from whom I bought my house. When they were after my payments they were only too keen to send letters and e-mails to remind me.Now that I am writing to them to complain.... nothing.Iam about to pursue legal action in the U K to get some sort of justice in this matter .If anyone can offer me any advice I would be truly grateful.The name of the agent is MASA.

As with any new developments, burglaries are very common. The thieves lie in wait watching the houses and wait for an oppertunity. Make sure you pull shutters down when out and you can buy clips for the shutters so that they cannot be forced up. Shut all windows when you are not in that particular room and obviously an alarm (although not everyone takes notice of alarms)

If you are prepared, burglaries can happen. Unfortunately people do become complacent when in a foreign country, especially holiday makers. If renting out, make sure that you point out the security aspect. It will save a lot of money and worry in the end.

I saw for myself one of the methods of burglary last week.

First a leaflet distibutor will call and leave a card or brochure for grilles, tv, air-con,  etcetera.   Once occupancy is established somebody will return to try to gain entry.   No un-grilled window or door is safe.

A simple solution to this method seems to be, keep your gate locked.   Simple but effective.   I know it's a pain to go to the gate for callers but it seems to work.

There are many other methods but, once there are plenty of people on site they will move somewhere else.

Have just seen message board about burglaries. I am on Playa Golf 2 and have been burgled twice and they have tried to get in another time as well. there is nothing you can do, I have grills,window locks,alarm all they did was pull the entire window out ,(NOBODY EVEN HEARD THIS). I am convinced the builders are behind it and the so called security guard , all you can do is be very viligant and wary of any stranger! Apart from that we just need a few more people to move in as the place is very nice with more and more shops and bars opening all the time. Also Frank and Galina at AVA VILLAS look after my place and they cant be faulted on anything they do for me.
