Just to say hello again am visiting Spain at Xmas

After visiting Valle Romano last week, I was suprised to find out that many apartments (football village) will not have front line golf views due the topography of the golf course (8th hole) Make sure you are will aware of this before confirming apartment selection.

I think you are correct. When I visited I was told that the ground floor apartments (on the mountain facing side) may be below the level of the golf course depending on which block you buy in, as the ground slopes down. The model in the club house isn't too clear so it is worth asking.

Is the golf course finished yet ?. When is the building work commencing ,has it started ?. I havent got access to the company i bought through .Any news would be good.

There are plenty of picture on the Football village website, latest in January 08.

I got a call from one of the Football Village agents a few months back.
She was asking about the buying experience.

I complained about the lack of progress updates and that their web site contained pictures that are months old (24 Jan).
I asked her to consider installing a real time web cam.
That way I could see how things are progressing.
Its still not there.

there wouldnt be a web cam or updated pictures because there is nothing to see

i called a guy on the costa del sol that works for viva and he said that apparently they started to do some work on the village site the day before the mayor was arrested - how suspicious is that ?

he also said that football village have sacked most of there staff last week

So did your contact tell you why they were sacked?  Was it because they were found to doing something wrong or due to cost cutting?

I can confirm the sales rep that I have been in contact with is no longer with Valle Romano but no one would tell me why she left. I assumed she had simply resigned but now it would appear that she was one of the persons to be sacked...

dont think there was any suggestion that the staff were doing anything wrong

but if you think about it, it must be vary difficult for football villages to sell anything with all this going on

the arrests were a couple of weeks before it hit the papers so they probly knew they were in trouble 

Looking at their we site - there's no future sales presentations listed.

I visited Valle Romano in April and was told that they had bank guarantees and there was building work going on at that time.

 I dealt with Nicola Cates but have emailed her several times and got no reply, does anyone know if she is still working there ? or is she the person mentioned previously.

The only person i have heard from recently is Kate Davies; i never had any dealings with Nicola only Chantelle, who i believe has left FV now.

I too have had an email from Kate Davies, as the sales rep I dealt with was made redundant. Originally I was told that 80% of FV staff in the UK and Spain had been let go. She tells me that this was a bit of an exaggeration, and that due to the credit crunch and a general slow down in Sales that as any normal company would do, they has trimmed their numbers.

She intimated that Valle Romano had nothing to hide and that they were open to their accounts etc being checked but they re-assured me that everything was still progressing.

I will keep you posted if I hear anyhting further

These dates have been posted on another thread - can anyone confirm if they too have received information such as this - they concern me somewhat as i was under the impression from the Sales pitch that everything would complete in one phase - how does this affect the rental potential with works continuing for 18 months after completion of The Village.

[Below are the dates that were given to Football Village by Valle Romano for the new proposed timescales for the development but please bear in mind, that this was before the corruption scandal came out in the open. H2 is the phase for The Village purchasers and not for Villa Borghese buyers.  As you can see, these dates have moved since you purchased but do seem realistic, considering where they are in the construction stage. 

• The Village (H2) construction to commence in May 2008
• The Village (H2) construction to completion in July 2010.
• Hotel construction to commence in January 2009 and completion at the end of 2011.
• Sports Centre construction to commence in June 2009 and completion in December 2010.
• 18 Hole Golf Course to be completed by July 2009. ]
