i know there is a dedicated thread but I never seem to know where half the places are and if I do they are never near Las Siete Casas. I'm looking for local restaurants near the village that people can recommend. Now we all know that the German restuarant in Benferri serves gigantic portions and the food is good but there must be more out there. Are there any out there that serve really good lunches we'll be out end of November and this time I hope to spend more time out enjoying myself and less in IKEA

I always found the food ok at 150......................................but they are a bit liberal with the vino!!!!

I've heard about that place, she does themed nights as well, the last one was Mexican, food as usual was excellant (well nobody came down with food poisoning as far as I know) However due to the popularity of the place I understand that in future the clientele will be more select and it will by invitation only.

If you can get past 150 the Elite Bar in Almoraldi serves excellent fish and chips on a Friday night. We went on the recommendation of another resident Tim, worth the journey. Advisable to book (have the phone number but it is in apartment). This message was last edited by san miguel on 11/10/2007.

when I was coming home from our last visit, a place called "The Casino" was recommended to me, it's in the centre of Orihuela near the river and an underground car park. Apparently it's a fantastic tapas restaurant/bar. I don't know anything else except that the 'more mature' spanish male can be found there, playing dominoes. Dress is casual but smart, I haven't been yet but itend to try and find it on our next visit.
Anyone else heard of it?

Following on from my queries about "The Casino" I put a posting in the General forum and guess what, it's in Torrevieja not Orihuela, maybe that why I couldn't find it. Looks an interesting place and we'll definatelty be giving it a try when we're out in March.
5 weeeks today and we'll be in Alan's having Dinner Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee
