Do you have any more info on what work will be done to the beaches? We love the area which is why we chose Thalassa but I have to say that our biggest dissapointment is the beach at Vera. ie. stony, steep shelves etc. It would be the icing on the cake if they are improving the local beaches.

Hola Temp 1

1500 meters of coast line is to be improved, a pair of 2 ton break waters are to be constructed to stop the erosion.

330.000 sq mts of sand is to be moved from Garrucha Harbour to the affected ares the work will cost 2.8,000,000 euros this will ensure magnificent beaches for residents and visitors.

phase two will include a prom with chiringitos, this will not happen overnight it is a massive project and will take 9mths to 2yrs to complete but it will be worth it.

Please excuse my complete stupidity but what is chiringitos? Is is something obvious that i am missing?

We were only down there last week and were saying that the beaches etc. needed a prom and somewhere to wander along - pavement cafes/bars and a night market would be the finishing touches to wander along on those balmy evenings!

Just looked this up in dictionary.  "chiringuito" is a masculine word meaning refreshment stall.

It is the set menu that the restaurant offers - it is usually a starter, main course and dessert and wine or a soft drink for an all inclusive price which in this case has been referred to as 9 Euros.  If the restaurant is good it is usually a very cheap and nice way to eat out - we have frequently taken that option when I have been to other parts of Spain.

Menú del día
Restaurants, cafes, discos, pubs… are regulated by law and the places that served food have a rating, similar to Hotels but instead stars, forks. So we can talk from 5 to 1 forks’ Restaurant. It depends of the services and quality they offer (wine cellar, parking, table ware…)

One of the standards that qualify for a 3 Fork’s Restaurants and below is to have Menú del día (Menu of the day) which it needs to offer a selection of starters, main courses, desserts (normally 2 or 3 picks), water, soft drink, beer or wine house and bread, all included in a set price.

Chiringuito
A chiringuito is a small establishment more or less provisional construction, whose aim is to establish a business, generally dedicated to the sector services, and particularly on sale of foods and drinks. Beaches and other tourist zones are usually the location for it. Usually, the activity of the chiringuito is reduced to high season, obtaining great benefits in a short space of time. Such benefits usually correspond to high sale prices. These prices, normally elevated in comparison to other establishments and justified by the suitable location of the chiringuito.
Hope it helps

Yes, they must display outside in which category they fall into, as a Bar, Café, Restaurant… I suppose the number of forks for the Restaurants too, but not all establishments that served food are categorised as a Restaurant. Bar and Cafe serves food too.
