For us, Vera is our town hall (auntayuntamiento). It is easy to find,the town hall is in the Plaza Major in Vera, next to the big church. You will need your passport and a copy of you deeds.

I hope all of you have signed up for your empadronimento or padron at the local town hall. This will allow the town hall to collect more money from central government for roads, medical centers, shopping centers, etc. If you dont sign up, they don´t know how many people are here, so what level of services are required. Even if your only here for a short time, you need to sign up. Also if you buy a car locally you need this document, as it gives an address in Spain where the car is registered. Some people don´t sign up as they beleive that if they do the tax man will find them! Sadly there are lots of other ways for the tax man to find them.

Having spend a great week here last week, it´s good to know that there is now an english speaking taxi service close to the complex. I presume that you are fully lienced and insured to carry passangers?

Can you let me know how much a pick up from Almeria will be for two of us, when we come back in December.
