Those of you who follow football will know that Almeria gained promotion this year, and next season will be hosting the Spanish giants like Real Madrid and Barcelona.  I was wondering if anyone knows where the football ground is, how easy it is go get to, and if anyone understands the vagaries of buying tickets???  There is an official website - but of course it is in Spanish and I can't see a way to translate it.  Getting tickets for Almeria v Real Madrid would be the best pressie ever for one of my sons!!!!

Hope everyone is basking in the good weather - both in Spain and the UK!!!

Linda

Can't help with info but we've been to a few Italian games and loved the atmosphere. We'd love to go to a game if we're out at the same time as you to cheer on our local boys!

Am sure up until now you just turned up, but next season will be different. We'll have a scout about as well and compare notes!

Hi Everyone,

We went to the big shopping centre by the airport and there is a massive football stadium there.  Not sure if it the right one but it might be a good place to start.

We'll have a look on the internet from this end and if we get any info we'll pass it on.

Paul would be interested if we are out there.

It sounds likely that you have found it!  If it is beside the airport it is really easy to get to which is good.  It is called the Estadio Mediterraneo according to the website.  It is great that there is some interest in going - maybe we could organise transport.  It could be a really good day out.

When we were out in February our Son Paul went to a Game, Picked the tickets up from a Kiosk at the stadium in the

morning saw the match in the evening, Lucky for him as a Bradford City supporter, Almeria won, which made a big change from watching City.

He had a real good seat, same prices as Championship in England, supose we'd better include Wales, and the Spanish fan next to him spoke good English and was very

impressed that the non locals were supporting his club.

The stadium was built around 2004/5 for the mediteranian games and has a running track.

Suspect you won't be able to buy tickets on the morning of the match if Real M are in town.

Last bus back to Los G is 1830, so no transport other than Car or hire a mini bus.

I'll make one in when I'm out there and Paul will when he is, which means I'll be paying if I'm there or not, ah well.

See Ya
