Hi,

I visited the houses in Fuente last week. All the 5 pools are in and tiled. Three familes have moved into the townhouses already. I met one english couple who moved in three weeks ago. They have just had a kitchen fitted and and were very friendly. They say they wanting other people to move in as its very quite at night. The couple did say that they have obtained a mortgage through completions but were not very happy with the costs. Some of the detached are finished, they have parking space at the side of each house and a tiled roof area but no garage doors. The contractors are still on site and a third of the site is still fenced off. Most of the houses are complete only the outsides are requiring rendering and painting. Street lights are not in yet. It is rumoured that the contractors will be complete before the end of September.

I can't sign for my property which is ready due to having no NIE number which I applied for 9 weeks ago from the Spanish consulate in Manchester. Anyone else having problems with NIE.

P.S I can definitly recommend the Resteraunt in the Square if you visit its very friendly and good food.

Hi Benenden, just read your message. We are buying a link detached on M1 no. 17, have not managed to get out to see it since last year but have been told it should be finished around July/August.  We already have an NIE number but have lost it and are going to have to get a copy of it I pressume from the Spanish Embassy in Manchester. When you applied for your NIE number  did you have to go and apply in person or  via post or email? Pls let me know as my sister and her husband are buying the property jointly with me and my husband and they will need an NIE number? You mentioned that the linked detached don't have any garage doors on, ours is suppose to be linked via a garage, does it look as though they are going to fit garage doors, what did you think???  Any more info you have would be appreciated.  Did you take any photos??? cheers Celia

Hi Celia,

I obtained my NIE number from the Spanish Consulate. You need to go in person but you don't need to make an appointment. You need to obtain a form from the webb site (I don't have the webb site at hand but I can get it). You print off the form and complete. Its all in spanish. I filled in some of it and when I got to the consulate asked if they could help with the rest which they did but they are not obliged to fill in the form. I can also help you with the form as I have the copies of my form. You can however apply at the foreigners dept in a spanish police office. this process is quicker as it takes days and not weeks. The cost of the NIE is £22. As previousley stated I'm still waiting for mine and have been waiting for 9 weeks.

The detached are linked to the next house by a tiled roof. The detached house across the road from mine is complete and there is no garage doors or back wall just a tiled roof. I have been inside one of the detached and they are nice. The swimming pool near your property is built and is surrounded by a wall. Though I didn't see the pool as its fenced off I was assured by an occupant that it was built.

If you need any more info please let me know.

I do have pictures of the site taken last week and I will try and put them on the photo part of the message board.

Regards

Benenden
