In most major Spanish cities like Madrid, Barcelona, or Malaga, the airport bus into the city center is around €5. The train (like the Cercanías Renfe) can be even cheaper.

If your flight arrives late at night, just double-check the last bus/train times online so you're not stranded. A pre-booked shared shuttle is a good mid-point between cost and convenience if you have a few bags.

I understand wanting it to be stress-free, especially with a late arrival. For guaranteed peace of mind, I'd recommend booking a private transfer in advance online.

I had the same worry about airport transfers when we first started visiting Spain, but honestly, I've found that pre-booking a private transfer takes all the stress out of arriving in a new place. One thing that really helped us plan our trip timing was checking the saudi arabian airlines reviews to see what other travelers said about flight punctuality, which can be super useful for scheduling your pick-up time. For our last trip to the Costa del Sol, we used a company recommended on here and the driver was waiting right at arrivals with a sign, which was such a relief after a long flight.
